The baby boom solution

Maybe we should only have 2 kids per female, one boy one girl, two girls, two boys, and no more. My theory is that it will give mothers more time to teach their kids, and help control population. If you find that one of your kids has died by all means have another. We can just simply tell the leftovers "Sorry BB not enough food or space". We could even make a daycare with berry bushes so kids could practice their farming. Then when old enough go to farms to help and once they reach about the age 10 they can go to the bakery or smithing station and learn from the people working their that way their is always someone learning and and contributing to the town.

The only time this shouldn't apply is if you're the only fertile female in town, and there are no female kids.

Re: The baby boom solution

Birth control has been suggested before. A fig leaf to prevent babies if you don't want them.
The current birth rate is perfect considering no birth control!

Which is why I said unless you're the only fertile female in town. The problem comes up when you have four fertile females having babies and only eight berry bushes and one row of carrots. Not Enough Food becomes a problem. Encouraging less babies and only feeding the ones who show potential is ideal. My thing is if a baby can't stay warm and stay still they don't need to be fed. It's time for some tough love people.

I disagree the goal is to build a civilization and carry on your lineages, it's hard to do that when you're overpopulated and don't have enough food. On top of that you have a lot of new players and most skill players are too busy trying to keep everyone alive and feeding babies. I honestly haven't been in a town all week, I have either been Eve runs or small camps set up that eventually die out because there's too many people who don't know what they're doing. It has been very frustrating all week, ever time I start a Eve camp it dies out one 5th or 6th generation due to overpopulation and not enough food. It has been extremely difficult to accomplish the goal of game.

Re: The baby boom solution

actually i induce famines by picking berry, if we got other food, kills of some noobs who dont know any better

i tried many times, kidnapping sometimes works, if you do it with left over kids, they still can get pissed so dont try to kill them 10 times, max 2 times pick up, if jumps out let it live

people who dont produce anything and dont know the food values, just got high hopes, always try to keep everyone alive but dont teach anything
im patient with 2-3 kids but not after 10
also this conglomeates of 2 females on berry bushes with 10 kids can kill the family in short time

if i teach one kid cant teach the other, maybe i tell one to follow holding another, but not 3, so i tend to discard the oens who come before one is big enough

curse system just gave a weapon for stupid against the ones who feed them

you can work and divide what you produce or at least check the situation
even on perfect conditions, some desert, no overeating, with some margin of error, lets say a person needs 10 pip per minute, 10 needs 100, thats 1 minute 3 bushes, i bet is more with new people
now if you got 3 grown kids, calculate for 5 min each 1,5 bush and thats just berry

all i see is 2 people farm the rest does stupid shit, new people who try to help get ignored and everyone starves

we should try to make compartments  and give food for soil or bucket of water trough a box, a simple exchange, each grown woman in its on berry field, if doesnt work, starves, simple
make out of bell base, 4 or 6 compartments next to each other and when all of them die inside you can dig out and open it, before doors you can use graves, babies cant open it , and you can block a direction so if you wanna be locked in a berry farm you can, you teach a kid and others wont eat your food produced

i can feed 5-6 people but why would i if no one else gives a fuck? not even a thank you they just think food falls from the sky
so i rather go to a corner, produce food there and share with the smarter ones only
