Add New Ways to Start Fire (lategame)

In the game, it is supposed to be complex to start fire, requiring you to get a bow drill, and do a series of tasks in order to make said fire.  However, stupidly enough it gets Harder to make fires later-game, as Juniper trees cannot be replanted, and get chopped down, making fire even more tedious to start when the flame, inevitably dies.

I think that there should be some form of a late-game way to make fire, whether that be making matches, or any other way.  If that is too hard to add though, perhaps plantable juniper trees could do?

I proposed once fire striker. Check my "Wider tools variety on low technology level suggestion in signature. Than upvote it on reddit linked in this thread smile

I'd like flint and steel that works without leaves or staff. pretty useful to carry to savannahs and would make trappers' lives much easier

He's given a reason for not adding Flint and Steal, as it is VERY hard to use in real life or something, but really I would be willing to use anything that could substitute for juniper.

(Maybe wood shavings, though those are kinda expensive)

Maybe it doesn't decay in baskets???  That would help.

Re: Add New Ways to Start Fire (lategame)

would be nice to have central heating to rooms, a small fireplace attached to the wall (or blended in into wall blocking movement), it would need coal supply and it would last based on how many tiles the room has
also you could ignite the fire brand on it
now this could be automatic or half manual, as long as you got coal there would require feeding into (first with a basket, then upgrade and have a lever to feed in) and you could store coal next to it

I think some people in history stored hot coals in leather poaches probably lineed with Ash for fire starting needs.

these would be great. I'd also like should we get fire spits to cook hunted animals

Also, I iike the idea of oil-fueled lamps that give some small heat bonus but last long and serve as fire.

People used to store the spark in polypores(fungi that grows on decaying woods).
