First of all sorry tarr, i got 12 adobe from far away but then realized i need a few more and dont have enough so i took down a part of your teleport, 9 adobe i think

i didnt spent a whole life with it, only around 20 minutes when i got back with adobe so is pretty fast

it looks like this, havent finished it, couldnt feed the lamb or plant anything

the first step is to create 2 walls of 12 from adobe (pen size plus 5 blocked each open side) if its 4 width you wont need extra one but
then get 27 basket of soil, few cart runs
dump it and arange in 2 bowl piles
till it, get the sheep inside

plant those 5x4 plots with plants which leave a hardened row
corn, squash, beans (yes, stew), cabbage, potato, berry
dont plant oens which leave empty tiles milkweed, wheat, carrot, sapling

the idea is that sheep can only move 5 tiles away so if there is something in next 5 tiles, they cant step on it so they cannot go out
hardened rows are considered items
the only way to remove is to put soil, till, plant something,water it, then pick it so its work heavy to grief it
not impossible but harder

in the end you end up with a pen with no walls, the sheep inside it

then i was thinking how to make it cheaper and get sheep fast and do the rest later on

this is a nine step process
* sheep moves 5 so you need extra layer or outer walls
first make a simple adobe pen 6x6, it costs 20 adobe, can be smaller, the walls will be removed later so the size with walls is the actual size, so an 5x5, is 3x3 with walls at first, costs only 16

next you put soil in front of it, not necessary to till but people wont take it away if you till it

third step is to take away the front side , sorry i didnt draw it good, actually you dont need a wall in front anymore, so 4 adobe back

then you put soil on left or right side, till it, remove that side 4 as well

soil on bottom, remove bottom 5

soil on other side, remove last 6

this ingame is pretty huge, you can just do with 3x3 inner side and 5x5 final size

once you got the shovel, 16-20 adobe is not so hard if the swamp is bigger, oven and kiln needs 6 adobe, so you can cut reet or wheat, and add some clay, then dig the stumps

next update adobe will be the cheapest and most low tech pen
instead of ovens or oven base you can make half adobe wall or adobe walls if want a bit more permanent

only thing to focus not to have permanent items inside this cause might not be the best to acces a well or a cactus like this

later on can be extended if you didnt plant all berry
like choose a tile next to inner side, 5 tiles away plant something in 2 diagonal and 1 straight direction, then remove the inner tile
goes one by one and each tile need 3 rows planted, the middle ones less, so maybe octagon can be also viable

ok i tried in game and i was surprised

lambs move five, lamb in transition to sheep moves five
and sheep with lamb moves 5
and they jump one when transition into sheep or fed the first time so this is the point where they go out
sheep alone moves five but its random so 33% is stays inside, but if someone stands next to it, 100% goes out

i thought is the items on ground at first but then i tested and they can move 5

yeah i got you just sis stole you from me and throw around i couldnt even name you she picked you up and throw randomly, so i told her to raise you

i was just screen shooting later on, sorry for it, wasnt too much use of me
my project made tons of corn also i stressed them to make fire, but i had to do it
my mom ate more than 30 sheep, and even if we fixed the berry, non of them cared about it in time so a famine killed most of the city
when i started cutting the corn- pen maker uncle died that time

and when the guy came with the sheep i got him a wild carrot and wild berries for the sheep food, and told him to ask for feed until i come back
then i jsut tried to move the fire and fix bottom right side

no planted seeds just block stepping on them just like a home marker, and you dont want 5 lines of tree cause then you cant pick off branches

ok based on the 5 tile rule i came up with a solution, only needs 12 adobe

make a 2x2 pen out of adobe oven base hitting the adobe to the ground- get sheep, its enough to make the first compost

plant berry bushes above it (interchangeable, and first step can be skipped if already got berry plantation)

rearange adobe removed from top side, the soil blocks the way out, plant on the left side and move the walls so it blocks the other 2 corners

plant on the bottom and move the tiles inside (looks weird but actually this is the maximum you can do cause you need diagonally 5 tiles to be covered), you aim for 5x6

then just fill the last side and remove the adobe

its same with fences, 12 fences dancing around

if its all berry its kinda a lot
if its stew plants 5x5 each type of plant, it covers 33% of the soil

then cabbage and potato for the other 5x6
behind the adobe cna go carrot and wheat, milkweed

this is more of an outpost setup which eventually can support a huge population if built on desert, if you find a fragmented one, like max 4 desert and something else in between then again desert, also needs a few ponds around
if you do it solo then people wont disturb you
you need a shovel for adobe and a stone, 2-3 bowls and a few soil piles/compost, also some steel hoes

too bad cant stick a cistern in middle of each 5x5 and use bowl on it, 8 cisterns would look nice on the middle of each 5x5

eventually with planted trees you can use stakes to delay the dry out if you dont want to fix the whole thing every time

new design idea, if jason gives us cistern buff so we could use bowl/pouch on it then each 5x5 could have cistern, otherwise 9 walls to block the eye, so you can have boards there

18 adobe can make an 5x6 (3x4) inside pen and later make full corner walls or front walls, whatever is better
