Graves everywhere

Seriously annoys me that graves are permanent if they dig it, and use shovel ticks
some cities are blocked by it, some are full of it

people think that some person deserves a place outside the defined zone just cause, blocking up tiles forever.
kids, suicide babies, murderers, noobs are buried the same way as decent people

please dont let kids under 10 to be buried, they cant make anything significant, they havent contributed, all they did was die near farm, i dont think anyone makes a good impact on someone typing 5  letters, their bones should be small and maybe could be placed in an urn

or add one more step to digging bones, like making a balsam or using a board
or to not tie to technology level, a clay a leaf and a wheat seed so people need spend like 2 minute on a bone, not wasting shovel ticks before pen, well

not only makes no sense bury every bone but has no impact, no value

kids spend minutes and leave shovel afar

i understand some roleplay it but for example let it decay without the flatstone  or if not finalized, and same player dies twice, remove older bones of that player

been 7-8 times same city, its nice if someone made a grave for me, its not nice i got  8 and i dont even know which

if no related person alive closeby then it could also start to decay

Re: Graves everywhere

Please don't have them be permanent and immobile.. They expand endlessly like a plague.

If they ticked down a step a irl day it would be fast enough, people can have their memorials.

Marked Grave -> Unmarked Grave -> Flat Stone
Dug Grave -> Nothing

Every IRL day is 1440 in game years

Re: Graves everywhere

Just checked, and you can currently dig them up.

Unless you go to the trouble of carving a name on one.  Then it becomes permanent.

But how many carved gravestones are really building up?  Is it a huge problem?  Screenshot please?

If you're complaining about the blank grave stones, dig them up.

The buried grave (no stone) can be dug up, but currently lasts forever if not.  I'm making it decay in 1 hour.  This is 2x faster than a bone pile.  So there's a reason to at least bury bones to free up space more quickly.

Re: Graves everywhere

well i seen around 400 graves , 4 made normally in a city
which was more than the farms or the rooms made
people digged every bone in every positions, full biomes of them, if you dig out they dig back
they do this as soon as a shovel finished regardless who it is, then shovel is broken till you need for well, pen, stumps anything
if you make one new, they take it and dig some more, if they ever would plant a carrot seed with that motivation like that no kid would starve

1 hour decay sounds good

Re: Graves everywhere

How about ossuaries, to let us stack multiple corpses in a single tile?

Re: Graves everywhere

yeah as I said in this topic
https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=2019

I thought introduction of catacombs and a special grave digging tool like a spade to not use up shovel and reduce the potential grieving of digging all the graves to break shovel, since burrying your loved ones would require you to have that tool.

I will be eve tana. If not an eve, my kids will be called numerically : Primo, Duo, Tertio, Quattro, Quintus, Sextus, Septimus, Octavius etc... ending with an -a if you're a girl.

Re: Graves everywhere

Do bone piles decay? I feel like that would improve the situation a lot. Regular bones before they are moved break down but bone piles seem to stick around.
