private server reset on exit

hi friend,

i buy ohol this week-end, love it but i wanna practice on my own so i setup a private server on my pc.
everything work fine but when i close the server and come back, everything is reset.

how could i save the map/object on exiting ?

On posix, ctrl-z to exit cleanly. On windows, ctrl-c

I don't think map culling would have come into play yet. You might simply be getting spawned into a different spot in the world each time.

An eve can come back to the same spot when living to 60. A certain solution is to look for the settings file forceEveLocation.ini (1 instead of 0), and perhaps the X,Y files for it.

ok, i did change eve age for remembering camp, i did ctrl-c on exit and i did force eve location.

but when i restarted the server, my camp has disappeared (if i'm right)

Check the coordinates of your character before closing the server so you can go there after server restart or set forceEveLocationX.ini and forceEveLocationY.ini to just spawn there. Map is saved automatically so most likely you are just somewhere else.

i just made a test, start server, drop some things on ground, ctrl-c on server
restart server, no object on ground, as if everything was reset and nothing was saved
this time i'm sure i was bord at the same place

so yeah, my test tell me nothing is saved ...

i'm using version 198 for windows, could this be the answer ?

edit: just found a more recent OneLife+_v358, will try again

If one did that, one shouldn't expect that 2HOL will have everything the same as OHOL. A good example, I think, of this is that wild berry bushes regenerate naturally in 2HOL, while, for those who don't know, they go grey and need watered to grow more berries in OHOL.

That other one may have been before we fixed the database corruption on windows.
