Chainsaw suggestion

Ok, you might be thinking “Why do we need a chainsaw?”

Well, an axe can cut down trees, but it’s hungry work. A chainsaw will do the same thing, but it doesn’t count as hungry work. With the chainsaw, you can cut down as many trees as you would like within the two minutes that it operates for.

The chainsaw requires two people to operate. One to hold the chainsaw and cut down the trees, and the other person to add the fuel.

The link below shows how the chainsaw is made.

I was thinking "why don't we already have a chainsaw?"

Re: Chainsaw suggestion

The economy behind using a chainsaw would be incredibly flawed due to how kerosene works right now.

While I agree with adding one (along with tons of the moeserver content) it would just be hidden by trolls and thus be dead content like cars and planes.

Yeah, fuel economy needs to be fixed so we can use oil for other things without sacrificing future water production.   It would allow using oil for heating, electricity, cars/planes, power tools, road-making and so much more.

Maybe if we could produce electricity through burning charcoal and make batteries...
Using kerosene on things like this would be a big waste of resources.

Potato battery, perhaps?

I'm down for a potato-powered chainsaw.  One step closer to robots.

Re: Chainsaw suggestion

the real reason for hungry work was griefer protection, idiots cut down trees to make a single shoe out of it, sometimes they go for the closest green ones, which is really sad
also makes tree walls less viable, when they look good and function as a wall, and give hourly branches

the wood minigame could and should be more complex, like more stages of growth, more work with them for more resources, wood could be an important resource almost as iron and water

What about only hungry work when in proximity of your village? So you cant directly grief trees meant for branches and tinder, but if you legitimately wanna get wood for a project you would be better off doing it in the wilderness where you wont get the debuff.

Re: Chainsaw suggestion

The pine trees aren't hungry work to cut down afaik. Go into the mountain for wood. Beats the swamp, even though that's the smart place to cut down the trees with no secondary function.

Berry bushes are weeds, tear them up, set them on fire. Corn is the food of the gods.
