Twins killing everyone

Occurs way too often nowadays
One person stabs others, the other heals and feeds him if something occurs
When there is a lot of people around, you can't really expect that they see the murderer and the helper, especially if not a twin
The refelx is to stab the killer but you would need to stab the one who heals it while the killer is on cooldown, easy to miss, they already killed one until you realize and you need to let them kill another to be able to react

Then they flex with their skills

They often use posse as well so you can't even run away, you either move out early, but then you can't take a horse with you, or you die

Since there is no skill in combat, unskilled idiot griefers can't be punished
Posse works both ways

The other thing that doesn't make much sense is that peopl are healed and can stab you right away, the timer should still go down to the 40 sec to pick stuff up or it's more of a disadvantage than an advantage

people heal others regardless then run out of pads so starting a fight with idiots you either need to be afraid they stab you, or they get healed when you stab them
griefers just stab others get healed and stab back, no time to organize

there will be never a good enjoyable war without skill involved, and intention-based combat is a big dumb thing

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.

Re: Twins killing everyone

Yea posse isn't supposed to work for twins making their own posse.

If posse worked for some twins it might be worth reporting on github.

For the time being, I think we have enough content.

Re: Twins killing everyone

Assuming that "idiot griefers" will not change how they handle stabbing/bow-shooting because of the existing mechanics making it easy is a very fatalistic way of viewing things.

Has the rate of murder-griefers gone down, because of how the latest system prevents them from killing mobile prey? Or has the number been unaffected because they switch to potatoes or roleplayers who want to stand still and take it?

Changing game mechanics WILL have an action and reaction. In a couple weeks you'll probably have people complaining "The combat mechanics are too complex and janky, and all the griefers are getting away with it! Make combat simpler so we non-combat people can fight back!"

In my opinion, the solution is still that villages that hit Newcomen stage need to be able to make non-lethal weapons (Batons) to be able to counter-act knife-wielders and bow-wielders. It's been almost a year now that I've been advocating for the addition of the Guillotine and the Baton together, as means to be able to kick out people from a Newcomen town / Belltown that they don't want to see back there again.

Re: Twins killing everyone

I have a friend that just started playing the game recently. Usually I'll make a medic apron and pads so that I can heal him when he gets bitten by wolves or whatever while wandering in the wilderness. Since he's not very good at crafting he tends to munch berries and chat a lot. In particular, making faces and trolling WBsteve style. Calling people ugly and stuff. Sometimes he gets stabbed, sometimes he stabs people. I heal both parties equally, at least until we run out of pads. Although to be honest I always keep the last pad in my apron for him, because we're friends.

It's given me a new perspective on griefing. People aren't necessarily doing it for malicious reasons like trying to destroy a family. Sometimes they're just bored and goofing around.

Re: Twins killing everyone

The problem is not in the twins. I saw two or three griefs several times who were not twins. Still, these people were in collusion. It is not really difficult to be born into one family. There are only 4-5 families on the server.
However, we really need some sensible way to deal with griefs. The level of violence is now almost the same as in times of swords and rift.
I think it's a matter of the level of players frustration - RACIAL SPECIALIZATION NOT WORK. There is almost always not something: latex, sulfur, gingers. And above all there is no satisfaction and the feeling that I am doing something important. I know that the city will not survive because it will run out of water. And if it survives it turns into a cluttered hole in which (surprise) is no water ...
This does not mean that I want to see the guillotine in the game ....
Griefs should be punished - simply forbidding the game for a few hours / days if they get a certain number of curses.
