Can player be in observer mode for 10 seconds, before he/she will be born? Like 'press enter to be born in 10... 9.. (etc.)'.

I hope we can have pregnancy in this game. So if the mom is pregnant she wouldn’t go far from town or if they are far from town they can go back and be ready for the baby, also the baby could /die in this stage of life and know the town a little better, may be feel more connected to the mother and vice-versa.

Since pregnancy would be over 30 seconds at least, that's a long time to keep a player waiting in the womb. IDK, maybe you can't /DIE until you're actually born.....Give mom a chance to get back to town and let baby see if they really want to /DIE or not....IDK
I think just letting the mother know somehow they they are up soon in the birthing order if that's how Jason is doing it. Like a warning to get ready, because you could have a baby soon!

Why would pregnancy need to be 30 sec? It could be 15 sec or 10 seconds. It would still be better than what we have now. Right now it is zero seconds.

Oh, I was thinking if it's going to be realistic. 9 months = about 45 seconds actually. Everybody is always complaining about wanting more "realism". You really can't do much in 10 seconds. 15 might be a good call.

If i recall jason considered this point some months ago, its really a shame he didnt go with it since it seemed like a great feature that fit in the game nicely

Since the average for pregnancy would be forty seconds, perhaps at any time in the womb you could press enter to be born. A timer is displayed, and if you hit enter before 30 seconds or after 60, you die or injure the mother, or have some sort of disadvantage, like slowness or less tool slots. It'd allow for disabled people to be born based on birth circumstance, and give a reason to be born at an ideal time. I'd love to see more circumstantial development in characters, too. Being born earlier could make you skinnier, being born later, fatter. Your mother could affect these things too. Perhaps the more she eats while pregnant the more fat is added on at birth. Perhaps being born somewhere cold makes you a little fat? Opposite with hot? Lots of movement could get rid of fat and make you colder. Skinnier could equal faster but more food consumption and fatter could equal slower but less food consumption. I've always loved more in-depth games where unhealthy decisions could equal a terrible life. Your decisions should mean more to yourself and your children, rather than to your cousins or someone not very closely related. Also, perhaps as a fetus you could kick to indicate responses. Mothers could ask kids their preferences and kicking could be used as a yes-no indicator.
I really, really want more in-depth features

Why complicate things for the sake of "realism"? A short pregnancy is better than no pregnancy.
Frankly, even a one minute long pregnancy wouldn't be that terrible if the whole thing counted toward your 60 minute life span, so you still grew hair at the same time. Are you really making any important actions as an infant in OHOL that require you to run around and do stuff? Mostly we just spend three minutes stand by a fire. One minute inside mom and able to see what she sees, then two minutes waiting for your hair to grow would be no big deal. It might even feel shorter because the pregnancy period would break up the monotony of standing around waiting and provide your mom with a reason to talk to you and interact when you are born.

Too long pregnancy could create traffic to joining game.
But mom should be aware that someone is in observer mode (she is pregnant), so she can talk to baby, like tell "we got home (wine!)" etc.
Advantage is that moms won't be missed any babies behind trees / on horse.
Also, perhaps as a fetus you could kick to indicate responses. Mothers could ask kids their preferences and kicking could be used as a yes-no indicator.
'kick mom to approve her'. xD But nice idea!

Lifeletters wants a 45 second pregnancy. During that time the mother has to see another player who is a "doctor" and get prenatal supplements from them, have a few ultrasounds, and go to Lamaze birthing classes. If they don't do all this in 45 seconds there is a chance the child will have complications during birth and could have to go to a intensive care baby ward for up to 30 seconds and be on an incubator. After birth if mother doesn't spend time with the new player for at least 14 years and leaves when baby is 3 years old, then baby will grow up with a series of abandonment issues and require a therapist until at least middle age, perhaps longer.

And hopefully Jason never adds baby bottles to the game or else working mothers might be tempted to forego breastfeeding and deprive their child of the many benefits of breast milk. That's another six minutes of therapy at least.

race update is bad, it's a totally legit reason to suicide when you born as a different skin than needed
