So Many Bone Piles

I need to know, what was the purpose of making it so you can't put baskets of human bone in carts? This makes it such a PITA to clean up after mass famines or mass murder sprees. I tend to be one of those people who run around and try to clean up the ground and organize things by making stacks of plates/bowls when people just leave single plates/bowls lying around all over the ground. I read the update emails, and maybe I just missed it, but I dont remember reading anything about this in the update. But its irritating and now I dont want to move bone piles to the graveyards cause it takes 4x as long.

Or even six times as long, if you have an upgraded cart.

Jason decided he'd rather baskets of bones not be able to go in carts then have confusion from the bug where the bones lose their names when inside carts.

No, Guppy.  This is the fix.

Putting bones into a cart and moving them over other graves caused a glitch in the location tracking.  Now the problem is solved.   Case closed.

Re: So Many Bone Piles

The way I understand it, the bones-losing-properties-in-cart bug was unfixable without major changes to the way the tile system works. Currently tiles can only hold enough information to save the data of one dead person, and changing that would be a massive undertaking that would probably take months.

So there's three choices:
A) Drop everything and spend the next few weeks revamping the system just to fix the bug and make dead bones more consistent (everyone would hate spending the next few weeks just on this).
B) Make bone baskets non-containable, making it a bit more awkward to transfer a mass amount of bones but eliminating the bug completely.
C) Leave it as it is, allowing bones to lose their information and be a bit buggy.

Out of these I think only B and C are reasonable, and since OHOL is supposed to place some importance to your family, ancestors and offsprings included, B makes more sense than C.

That's just my understanding of it, I'm not a programmer or a designer so don't quote me on this.

Or allow to pile up the bones into bigger piles, they will lose their name but special people should have their own grave anyway.

Re: So Many Bone Piles

I guess from a historical point of view it's accurate since pilled up corpses that died from the plague where nameless too in a sense.

Re: So Many Bone Piles

Allow bones to be piled together and then LIT ON FIRE!  MUHAHAHA ...*cough* .. excuse me ... I mean respectfully cremated.

This could be a nice solution to graveyards and bonefields.

I dunno, Id rather C than any of the other options. I guess Ill just let them fester where they lie from here on out.

I would also rather have option C.   If I carting bones around en masse, they clearly were not cared about by anyone else enough to get buried properly.  What does it matter if they become nameless?
