Full capitalist societies?

Imagine a place where the individual person each had a small parcel of land to do as they please with. But few communal areas, Each unit makes what they need within there own land.

Each person just makes or trades what they need. It'd be easier to trade with others rather then spending resources trying to build what others have already.

Communist may seem cheaper but people often leech more then what they contribute.

But idk, I'm yet to see private property in game. Spoonwood probably wishes he could cut things.

Re: Full capitalist societies?

back in the day i seen multiple rooms, cities with walls, if you died you just walked back to it

i was quite new, but knowing the basic game, how to hunt rabbits, how to tend to sheep
i think i just started smiting

i seen once a city with multiple rooms, huge ones, connected, walled city
one of the rooms had it's own fire, and two people in it, i went in to get a shaft fired up and they were angry
a baby was standing in the fire, and they had their own bakery inside
kind of burned into my mind and that time i couldn't even imagine how all those rooms got made
ofc you could get back and do it in multiple lives

Re: Full capitalist societies?

Lol, pein's story reminds me a bit of my beginning days. My mom stumbled on an deserted utopia and told me to enjoy it while she went off and died. It was really eerie; just a labyrinth of rooms with multiples of anything you could think of. I didn't even know what half of it was. I remember taking some tools from the massive stockpile of tools from the grand forge, and heading out into one of the courtyards to figure out how to do cut stones (of course, this was back when you couldn't actually do anything with them). This was also well before the coordinate hiding update. I thought it was just how far society had manage to get in the game, but it was actually just some guys on discord going back to it over and over again. My mom might've even been one of them, looking back.

I'll never forget the feeling of stumbling upon an ancient ruin from a civilization long past. Eventually though, I got exhausted with all of the wonders I had no idea how to use, (not to mention the soul crushing emptiness); and filled my belly and just kept running east until I finally died of starvation. Top two most emotionally moving experiences I've had playing this game.

Re: Full capitalist societies?

i was a farmer, i was a decent player after i got used to controls, i didn't do advanced stuff and didn't eve, but i fed the population

the biggest griefers early, were the baby machiens who kept every kid, no lineage ban, no other food than carrot and carrot pies
we never reached higher or didn't knew how to do other stuff

some people were good, i started later with a month or so, but i don't think i annoyed veterans that much

then i was a great rabbit hunter

later when people pissed me of by their selfishness, i did whatever else than food production, testing other stuff

i had like 5 lifes in same town getting my first sheep, it escaped cause bad entrance, i starved like 3 times until  i got it
we made fences for them and we got horse, i made fences in other biomes and stuff people didn't really knew, like carts and sheep clothes

when we realized fences arent viable, and compost was nerfed post sheep, and decay hit us, people were very pessimist about the game
i started making pit pens and that was a start of new era
adobe base and bell base came after it
i made a lot of pens, that's how people knew me

aroudn apocalypse people started pvp for fun and after i was killed for no reason i tried revenge myself, was a swamp city and a grassland city, and the whole day went with pvp in swamp
later was added the first slowdown after murder then the second one

i killed a lot of people and generally not without any reason, and they still complained

deserts introduction made a lot of good strategy possibilities, and more viable towns

around 200 hours i was pretty good player, even without zoom mod getting sheep, and exploring like 200x200 tiles with no marker

actually i was learning smiting very late, cause i didn't wanted to mess up things, so i tested it in towns with no females

after a week or so i was the main smith in every camp for a long time
making pens or tools or both

i lef a lot of nice structures in longer lienages

actually the game became boring aroudn steam update, and tutorials
the players were good in Casino town era,  but not too many
after that many noobs and a lot of people

I loved jungle update, that revived the game a bit so i wasn't too happy about the temp changes

actually we messed around kill mechanics and teleports and other bugs a lot, i mostly remember those

sure, first time saving a brother when your mom starved and you are just a 3 year old kid, and making a farm, havign a family of 5 is memorable at first, but after a while stories like this become boring

i realized how lazy people are, after the berry bush buffs, when from 60 min, they regrown each 8 min
and they still didn't used them properly

eventually i kill a lot less than back in the day and still got cursed for no reason, mistake or overreactions
i don't say i don't deserve one or two time to time but people going aroudn for 2 hours to curse you for being "mean" is kidn of fucked up
that's the worst thing in this game, and not only made a bad habbit of cursing anyone in each 2 hours for any reason, but punishing the wrong players and people learned to fake, blame others, claim others as griefers and killers and others curse on demand

back in the days people had some respect, and if you were fighting they accepted their death

Re: Full capitalist societies?

Yeah, I kind of miss the old days before the curse system. I also used to duel a lot back then, sometimes even taking on multiple people; even after the murder cool down was added. Things are a lot different after coming back. Kind of crazy to think about how this game pretty much used to be a carrot farm simulator.....Now it's just a berry farm simulator. BA DUM TISH!!! XD
