Re: There is a poop apocalypse, please fix

We wouldn’t have this problem if people did compost.

Re: There is a poop apocalypse, please fix

Make poop decay

Nerf compost to give less baskets

Give way to get fleece without making poo

Add storage container for poo

Make relocating poo not a negative

All of these options tackle the issue. Not sure which I prefer.

Re: There is a poop apocalypse, please fix

To give less baskets is a non solution to the issue really.
Relocating poo tool pitchfork is something people would die for.
Poo decay all the way imo.

Re: There is a poop apocalypse, please fix

The poop issue comes from clothing crafting. It would be better to boost amount of fleece/ball of threads per sheep, as it would fix two belows:
1. Excess of poop
2. Tedious, repetitive sheep feeding and shearing

no, any form of sheep overfeeding results in this. People may even make more thread if it becomes cheaper.

Sheep can't just do everything.

actually they can... sheep are the second animal (recorded) to be domesticated, the first being the dog, and their is a reason why its the second animal we domesticated:

1. it's actually a dessert animal requiring less water and food then most domestic animals.

2. it makes clothing! witch for our ancestors was a huge incentive to keep breading them.

3. it also makes meat and milk (but we don't to get to indulge in such a luxury…)

Re: There is a poop apocalypse, please fix

I think the point Booklat is trying to make is the same he and I made in another thread:  When sheep produce so many resources, you're going to have an over-production of at least one of them.  Move poop to pigs.   Then pigs and sheep will both be able to produce meat, and 1 other thing that doesn't require their death.   Then you won't have excess.  After they're grown, you just feed them when you want their non-death product - you don't get 2 things every time you feed them, 1 of which you probably don't want.  If you want their meat you kill them.  Players can then control what is produced perfectly and nothing needs to be nerfed (feed might need rebalanced maybe)

Re: There is a poop apocalypse, please fix

Isn't it weird that feeding a baby sheep is directly superior to feeding unshorn sheep, why wouldn't you want the 4 mutton?

I think moving poop to pigs could actually be a great idea. Then the specialties are: cows are for milk, sheep are for wool, and pigs are for poop. Give a better pork recipe than tacos, and have cows be killable for beef.

Re: There is a poop apocalypse, please fix

Only moving poop to sheep does not cover all our needs. Still, making clothes would be tedious. What if all animals would be skinnable? Cow and pig skin may have the same uses as rabbit furs, which would allow us to craft pouches and backpacks, at last! Also, i would change food for cow or pig, so corn will not be overused.

It sounds great indeed, to make every animal produce only one main product and meat after killing. But still, making clothes is tedious and repetitive. I still would buff it.

it could probably get a buff if pigs started pooping, that'd be a heavy nerf tbh, but a good one

should i make a post on this?

That's a separate issue from the 'poop apocalypse', and easily addressed in other ways that have nothing to do with poop.

I strongly disagree. Poop is produced after shearing, we shear them too much. Only because amount of wool from one sheep is so low. I suggested to increase this amount about TEN TIMES, which would lead to ten times less poo.

thats not true as people may still mass produce fot stuff like shrimps. A buff without a nerf may break sheep even more.

Re: There is a poop apocalypse, please fix

If you move poop to pigs, then you have poop and wool produced on different animals, independent of each other.  Poop pocalypse addressed.  So no more 'too much poop because people want wool'.

Then, after that if clothes are too expensive, reduce the cost of clothes.   The notion of having one sheep produce 10x the wool is silly.

Two  separate issues, two separate solutions.

people starded complaining about dung when Jason changed shorn sheep feeding. The issue however became much worse with clothes (and even shrimp).

but tbh, overfeeding has been happening ever since people started to mass aprons. People complaining of mutton pies being too strong and cheap is actually what resulted in Jason making yum, it was already noticeable that all sheep's products were cheap since we'd feed sheep for compost anyway. Now it's changed, it is indeed wool causing overfeeding but that is only possible because sheep also drop dung and food.

Re: There is a poop apocalypse, please fix

Just let it sit in the pen. You only need to move poo if you want to make mutton, so this is actually a stealth nerf to mutton pies, and we needed that nerf anyway.

That's exactly the point. You need six sheeps to make nest. So, if somebody wants to catch them, he is making six dungs. Buff to wool produce would also address this issue.

In my last life I was tailoring and teaching how to do it. I've made quite a lot of shit this time and this was basically all I could do, so tedious it was.

yes, but each time you do feed sheep you also get food and dung, if any end up in shortage you may end up overproducing another

No.  You can feed one sheep. Shear it.  Then feed it again.  And repeat.  If the sheep cannot move, then you won't get poop.

That's only if the sheep can move last I checked.
