I gave up on dying of old age.  I usually starve to death at age 59, with my clothes already passed on to new babies and standing on the edge of the boneyard.

It counts any death at 54+ as Old age death here.

From 2019 only?
My Eve percentage is wayyy higher and my survival rate has dropped immensely; that's the Eve suicide I've been doing (join like server9 to fix zoom and then suicide in snow with snowmen). I checked my files and confirmed that all my Eve lives in 2019 have been zoom ratio fixes, so that's 39 Eves dying at 15-16 years old... Ouch, that stings for average age of death and hunger death percentages. I thought it was maybe twenty or so Eves but 39!
Funnily enough the kid/grandkid ratio is even more on grandkids side.

Thank you for the stats and scripts! It's fun; I wish the game had a library of our lives to go through. I'd filter out my kamikaze Eve lives completely.

Whatever you might need to add some sort of time delay between requests. I don't think the server is being able to keep up with all the files being downloaded or there is some sort of throttle.

It would also be awesome if we could filter to get only data from bigserver2 instead of all the servers (less requests).

The next section doesnt count deaths under the age of 3 or disconnects

Could you also ignore the short Eve lives?
Some people get born as Eve but suicide (just like being a baby in a town you don't want to be in) by running in a boar or something.
Maybe don't count Eve deaths under 17 (14 + 3)?

Thaulos pls redownload the oholdownloaddata.js file
and start it like so: node oholdownloaddata.js f
with the f argument, this will make it so that it downloads certain files again. Normally this is not needed but there was an error with the last version of the download file and it would download name files wrong. So in order to fix this, start it once with the f argument.

I'm confused about the hour numbers, because i know i havn't played that much since coming back in January, and had well over 100 hours before coming back. Oh well.

Thanks for posting the 2019-only stats!  It makes a very noticeable difference in my numbers which is interesting, but not surprising.  I'm wondering how much of it, though, is due to changes in the game, and how much is due to me being much, much better at it now.  I'm guessing probably mostly that second thing.  I was really terrible for quite a while.

But i will change them again. To ignore eves that die in the first 3 min and to not ignore disconnects anymore. I found out ignoring disconnects is bad because it messes with the kids and kills ratio.

I did notice my kill number had gone down by one on the most recent iteration.  Guess I must have knifed somebody and disconnected.

Thanks for your work on this, these stats are really fun! 

For the number of male and female lives, they obviously add up to the much larger "number of births" rather than the "number of deaths"  I think it would be more interesting to see the ratio of male to female lives after the pre-toddler and early-eve deaths are removed. 

Also, I hope you are prepared to start running these stats about once a month.     I can't wait to see how frag, grim, aurora, destiny and I compare head to head when we know these stats are being recorded.

If you want that i make your stats i need one lineage link to one of your lives in the last 50 days but not today.

I think it would be more interesting to see the ratio of male to female lives after the pre-toddler and early-eve deaths are removed.

I updated all the stats with the new scripts.
Update:

- ignore eve lives that dont live longer than 3 min

- no longer ignore disconnects (because it would mess up the kill and death ratios, also a lot of people have disconnected with an old age, deaths under the age of 3 are still ignored)

- bug fix - a few kids here and there would not be counted

- show all deaths instead of only those who are not ignored (this way its less confusing, but sometimes there are still less deaths than births, this is because some data was not recorded, cant do anything about it)

- oholdownloaddata.js script improved - you can now start it with a -d argument and it will then ask you between what dates you want to download data, so you no longer have to download everything at once.

This is a step by step tutorial on how to use the tools to gain stats about players

The tools are made for nodejs, so first you need to install nodejs:
https://nodejs.org/en/download/

Then download the tools from github:

Search the green "Clone or download" button click on it, and choose download zip

Next move the zip to a folder you like and extract it. (right click -> extract all)

Then navigate inside the folder that you just created until you find the tools.
Click on the folder path at the top in order to copy it.
When it gets highlighted press CTRL+C to copy it.

Now open a cmd. (press windows key, type cmd and enter, a black console should appear)
With this console we need to navigate to the folder of our tools, so type cd into the cmd and than paste your path with CTRL+V.
Should look something like this:
cd "C:/Your/Path/../"
If your path contains spaces you need to use "" around it.
Then press enter and the cmd should change to the correct path. For me it looks like this:

In order to make sure you are in the correct path type dir
It should now list the tools you downloaded:

You can now start the tools by typing: node toolname.js

First we want to download all the data that we need to get the stats.
Right now that are around 1.1 GB and its growing a bit every day.
In order to do that type:
node oholdownloaddata.js
If you only want to download data between specific dates type:
node oholdownloaddata.js -d
Press enter, the script should now start and it should look similar to this:

Sometimes the tool gets stuck. If it doesnt do anything for 3 min it is probably stuck. This is no problem. Just close it with CTRL+C and start it again.
You can close all scripts with CTRL+C while they are running.

When it is done, it should tell you "Download complete!"

You can later use this same tool to update your data, just start it again.

In order to get information about a player we need to find out his 'secret' hash.
We can do this if we have a lineage link from this player, for example:
(the lineage link needs to be atleast 1 day old, otherwise the data might not be recorded yet)

We want to know the hash of the player called "Vanille Milk"
We can use another tool called, oholplayersearch.js to find it.
Start it like this:
node oholplayersearch.js
Then type in the information you have about this player and in what time span you want to search.

You can also type 'u' for some things, if you are not sure about them.

After some searching the tool will output the result, in this case it found 1 player:

Then select the hash and copy it with CTRL+C

Now we can get the stats about the player, start the oholgetplayerstats.js script like so:
node oholgetplayerstats.js *CTRL+V*
you can also put the hash/hashes inside a file and then start it like so
node oholgetplayerstats.js
then the script will ask you for the file name in which the hashes are stored and take them from there.
for me it looks like this:

Put in the dates in between you want to search and the script will start processing the data.
As soon as its done it will output all the stats or save them inside a file you have choosen.

At what step did you fail? Maybe because the lineage link you posted is too early, the server will be updated tomorrow again, so you need to pick a lineage link thats a bit older, i will add this to the tutorial.

At what step did you fail? Maybe because the lineage link you posted is too early, the server will be updated tomorrow again, so you need to pick a lineage link thats a bit older, i will add this to the tutorial.

I didn't read the last page of this thread. lol I'm following the steps now. So far so good. Waiting for it to finish running the download data.

Ah ok, so nothing today will work? I think besides today the newest one is 7 days ago.  I haven't been able to play this past week. Life and all lol

Yes, you can only access the data from yesterday or longer ago (as long as your local data is up to date, you can update it with the download script)
7 days ago is no problem, you can also find lineages that are months ago, you just need to tell the search player script the time span.
