Reichels

Had a nice life
http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=1018231

started off with a lot of people running around, then suddenly most of them died
i had a few daughters and one was cooking eggs, which was nice, but kinda bad on plates when we got sheep and rabbit too

then i seen a guy in full fur, realized im not alone, even bro returned at end

then 2 twin nephews, started to hate twins, or stupid noobs or griefers
this time they started extending the berry the worst direction possible, told to stop, they still didnt, i wont wait until they put seed in it, so i stabbed one, other suicided, thanks daughters, you were feeding me, and told everyone to eat other stuff too, we had a 5x5 berry, wasnt enough for compost and feeding sheep all the time but mostly okay
my sis only kept those two kids, such a bad choice

after that we started rolling, my daughter made shears, in meantime i think someone got one back
and a lot of people come back from nowhere
carts, fleece, packs, pies, lot of good stuff

we had a mine, pen and a lot of seeded carrot, bit far from desert, was hard to focus on everything, tried to farm carrot, but they ate most, tried to make road around berry, was old until finished
flat rock is faster with cart but i dont like sliding around near berry, i guess best would be 1 flat rock 1 wood tile
also just relocate everything, we had the pen north and berry under, but just too close to each other and kids just ate it even if we had tons of wheat, pies and bread

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.

Re: Reichels

Fun.  Never understood the whole road around berry farm thing.  Is it just a cheap way to inhibit infinite berry expansion or is there some other utility to it?

Re: Reichels

Yes to both. The berry patch is often the central park of the town. From there I make offshoots to iron mines and areas with large numbers of ponds (later to become wells).

Re: Reichels

mostly psychological way to stop extending it, and free tiles are important to put down bowls, compost, buckets, etc. people tend to go simmetric, which is bad if they go off the desert, but if you setup a 3x3 or 5x5 grid they extend that too, or limit themselves fixing one part and eating that part only, just that flat rock roads are long distance ones, not for decor or farm cover as you get hard time stopping on them, but they are fast, if you put a board and then a flat rock it wont make you run far, just it should be standard, 3 people can do it in 20 min , give some form to farms, multiple 3x3 is good, or 3x5
a compost is 15x2 bowls of soil, or 30x1 if can afford the hoe uses, you can have multiple patches, you will have a lot of garbage, especially seeds and beans, newbies wont space out things, the more free space the better the city

This can't be stressed enough. 4 wide berry patches at most so i can put bowl at edge and reach middle bushes but generally we're looking at 6, 8 or more wide and it 's stupid.
