Bears

Genuine question: Do they come back on their own if you lead them away?

Re: Bears

They wander around aimlessly, so if they continue in the same direction for a while, it’s possible, but unlikely. Usually they’re only lead back by a player.

Re: Bears

well they make the same path later on, but if a player triggers it they follow them a bit, and its likely they run toward town if you run toward town

so if follows you, run 90 degree or opposite to village, stand on item, let it trigger on you, and run sideways doing a circle back to town
generally is better to deal with them
once it killed my last sister in a gen 53 town, so even if you cant find it right away, you need to be patient, track it down and kill it when the family is small

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.

Re: Bears

Just feed them raw mutton and they will stop chasing you.

Re: Bears

they still kill you just wont chase you
which is fine

you can dig top and bottom side of cave a pit and throw a leaf in it (cant be digged again to disappear, needs 19 more items to be filled pit), then no one can poke it, not sure if can be poked from side, but its sure it wont release it

Re: Bears

Trapping bears in their cave is an underrated tactic that is a good investment for the future. But I guess the shovel use cost for pits could be too much of a drawback... but well, it might be an inevitable sacrifice to keep a city safe in the long run.

Re: Bears

long run the only solution is to kill them which needs 3 arrows

generally if you got too many caves you got some  iron too

but people kill each other in time of prosperity and when bear comes a lot of people fall

even me sometimes cause autopathing and diagonally running bear can trick you, 2 ticks per cave is still cheaper than 1 tick per 5 year old baby who died near fod
