I agree with almost all of you, and I think I'm out too.

The game is too difficult for new players to get a hang of, and vets (who could keep a town running) are neutered by all the updates (biome limits, tool slots, iron nerf, homelands, even the all-important genetic score). These updates also make it easier for griefers to target towns. At least in the old days, you could run away and settle somewhere else. There were bell towns full of technology and people working together.

Meanwhile, I just played a life in which my whole family was murdered so someone could steal all of our kerosene. Yay! Not a waste of an hour at all. *sarcasm*

Remember when everyone lived in the desert? It didn't make sense, but I actually miss that now.

Also, I'm not unconvinced that Bobo actually IS Jason. The game itself makes me feel like I'm being punked.

This just doesn't work. Most people (especially the new ones, but even some vets) don't pay attention to the hierarchy thing. It's confusing for new players, and I'm just too busy doing something to keep the town alive to roleplay kings and queens. I've actually been the leader before and didn't even realize it. Griefers are killing indiscriminately in towns like the old days... EXCEPT, now, no one can fight back.

People don't know how to unfollow, or are too young, or are trying to mind their own business and stay out of the "drama." So, now it takes just two people to wall off wells and oil and kill everyone. I tried to warn the Berg family, but I was exiled and an order went out to kill me for griefing. I cursed the queen and fled to the Gay family and warned them, but apparently, the same thing happened there. The griefers grow up within the family, so it's hard to rally a rebellion against them, especially when it takes 3 secs for them to kill you.

TBH, I think it's a lot of little things adding up that make it not worth it. It used to be hard, but rewarding, to start as an eve. It was hard enough to get a civilization started while having babies back when all you needed was wild foods and water ponds. Now, there is no constant naturally occurring water and just no food.
It is a punishment for players with higher scores to end up as an eve. And, I agree that not being able to be self-sufficient as a family is a hindrance as well.
Also, it seems that griefers and the fact that it's so hard to progress technologically ensure that families don't live that long anyway. Of the lives I wasn't an Eve today, each town I was born into died or was just about dead by the time I turned 60, despite my efforts.

Why is being an Eve not worth it?
1.) You destroy your gene score trying to raise a family in a food-wasteland.
2.) Your family tree probably isn't going to survive the day anyway, so why risk your score?

YES!!!! This is a HUGE problem. I also kept spawning as an Eve. I made a go of it, but could find hardly any food while trying to raise 11 children as a nomad. I finally found an abandoned town after menopause with my one surviving daughter. I frickin went from 100 to 460 on the gene scoreboard. NOT WORTH IT! To top it off, one of my grandkids obviously poked awake all the nearby bears... So, all that for nothing.

1.) It's too hard to start as an Eve with no food, no water.
2.) It's too easy to grief-to-death an entire family.

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I just spawned in twice in a row as an Eve -- both times in the midst of bears with not a scrap of food in sight. Every dead town is waterless, ironless, or both. As soon as I raised a baby, I was then competing for foragables. I died young each time, and now I have to take a break from the game because I don't want to destroy my gene score even more than I already have.
Families seem to be dying out early and often. Part of the problem is the dependency on certain races of people (I honestly miss the old days when anyone could pick a banana).
Now, wild foods don't respawn, so there are probably a lot of Eves spawning into food-wastelands. I tried to follow markers to other towns with no luck. It's too dang hard unless you get a really lucky spawn. To put some perspective on this problem, I'm a competent player and I have a zoom-out mod. Also, this is the first time I've written in the forums or complained about anything since I bought the game in the summer of 2018.
