I cant help but wonder if this is some weird conceptual thing Rohrer is doing. Maybe he will intrdocue currency into the game that is also a real life crypto. Very curious to see where this is going.

NFT's are hot right now. Lot's of chatter about it. If OHOL were to become a "crypto game" that would make headlines.

There's a few examples of high art being sold as NFT's but most of them are memes, like CryptoPunks and Kitties.

For the very low price of a little bit less than 10'000 dollars you could be the proud owner of a bunch of blue pixels from a game nobody heard of, but i guess it's "art" so it's justified.

I like the meme potential but that's too much for me. It's a Dutch auction so the price steadily drops until someone bids. My lil OHOL coin going to the moon!

I think Jason should sell in game items (skins) as NFT's. You know people would buy it and it could breathe new life into the game. NFT's would be way cooler than buying regular items and the owners could resell.

I'm officially the proud owner of the one and only official One Hour One Life Non-fungible token (NFT). As such, when you see me in the game please direct all crowns to my head. That is all.

OneTech has a learning curve all of it's own. I'd much rather have tutorials like  this. I wonder if it would be feasible to code something that could automatically generate similar tutorials.

It wasnt just the green hat he has his own sprite

The hat was picked from his body apparently. Eventually made it to me and we passed it around the Mea family. I thought it was pretty cool having an uncraftable item in the game. So I declared myself Jason Rowman (purposeful misspelling). All the times I've been killed over a crown I thought surely someone would stab me for the hat, but nobody seemed to care that much actually.

Fatter you grow, slower you move.   If you eat enough pies, eventually you would be slower than a guy carrying a big rock and wider than a horse cart.

Thin starving people would run inside your property fence and steal all your pies before you could close the gate.

You'd have to tell your children to feed you pies, because your fat arms are too short to reach your mouth.

This. Get fat, move slow. If a player is slow and fat we'll know their eating too much and they get stabbed, err fat shamed.

I like the idea of a jobs bulletin board but if we're going to do a job there should be a reward. Jason mentioned something about icons that will associate players with the tools that they've unlocked. But I don't think everyone should have an icon over their heads, that would be annoying.

Instead how about badges, and when you mouse over a player you can see their badges. So lets say you want to be the baker, you bake five pies and you get the baker badge. Now players can know you're a baker, and they can ask you to do baker things, and they'll know there's already a baker in town. Chop 5 trees and you get the lumberjack badge, etc.. for all the professions.

I feel like this would be a really rewarding system and it could serve the purpose of letting us know who's doing what around town and what's lacking.

#11 Re: Main Forum » The meta has changed » 2019-10-29 20:29:23

Tell babies what you need. "Need X", they'll do it or they wont. I find most often that they will. It definitely feels more cooperative with the tool change. Now people will come ask me to do stuff at the forge for example, rather than taking over and doing it themselves.

#12 Re: Main Forum » Most common and annoying things that players do » 2019-10-28 16:02:51

When players eat carrots as if they're berries. Munch several carrots in a row when there's an abundance of other foods. When players put three pies in their backpack even though they're working in town.

It's not common but it's enough for me to throw off all my clothes and go die in a corner.

#13 Re: Main Forum » List of things that will be tools » 2019-10-26 17:05:18

Considering all the uses for hot coals I think it should be a tool. Then we can play as the exclusive stew, kraut, turkey broth maker, fryer, grill master, and taco cook. Doing all the things with hot coals should take a skill slot.

#14 Re: Main Forum » I trust in Jason's decisions » 2019-10-25 15:41:05

I'd love it if we could store Masa dough in a clay crock. Like just fill it up with dough, then use a bowl to get it back out. I feel like there'd be way more tacos if this were a thing, and more tacos can't possibly be bad. I find it really satisfying to make them, but I hate that I have to occupy so many bowls to do it.

#15 Re: Main Forum » BB spam » 2019-10-25 02:59:34

I managed to live through it (Daaimah Pine) only to be killed after stabbing the guy who killed my sister (Theral Pine). It was so funny watching bb's drop out as you ran. So many tears.

I love it! I've always felt there should be more emphasis on player "roles" / "professions". You found a creative way to give the players a choice. Brilliant! It's definitely going to be interesting and probably really frustrating at first, but it sounds fun, gj.

The magic lady - https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=7838

I saw this on the last arc reset. She was an Eve picking up babies and then seemingly making them disappear because she placing them so far away. Then they'd reappear in her arms. It was pretty sick tbh, she could potentially do everything in the game while standing in one spot by the fire.

#19 Re: Main Forum » Myths and facts about why player numbers are dropping over time » 2019-10-12 16:23:24

Give new players a sense of purpose. Teach them to farm in the tutorial. It can be hard to provide new players with the time and attention they need when you've got BB's popping out. I've ignored the new player message so many times because I have other newborns to care for. The tutorial should cover berry bush care and how to make deep tilled rows and plant a seed. Whenever I can teach a new player this they will do it their whole lives.

Why does the player go off center in this mod? It's really bothersome to me because it seems to happen at random and I have no control of it. I'd prefer to keep the view centered on the character like it works with hetuw.

Really appreciate the search feature. Can you add wasd support? You must be left handed or something, IJKL doesn't feel right at all. It also doesn't work when I type /IJKL.
