Wow, you used rn in the rnissing

Dang, thought I snuck that in!

I still have no idea what you are on about.  I mean, I haven't been on the forums long enough to even be looked at by any illuminati and I got the glitch too.

I did some research and it may be related to an achievement system Jason tried to implement a while ago? So many coding changes maybe some old coding is seeping through

#6 Re: Main Forum » servers » 2019-06-15 07:13:18

If you did not put in a server, chances are it is bigserver 2 (which is default) or Server 1 (fallback server)

If yiou open up the stdout file in your onelife directory, look for a line that starts with

Starting web request 1 [GET http://onehouronelife.com/reflector/server.php

below that is a line that says Web Result with the server listed

Hmm I haven't been part of the Radish line yet, so the pie thief wasnt me.

I will, however, admit to stealing a cart, a shovel, a chisel, a mallet and two pies from the the family with no last name

And a cart, 4 pies, and a chisel from the Gingers

But I swear to you, it is for the greater good!

Mistress Zues, to translate

The mini map is not part of the game client. It is a cut and paste from https://onemap.wondible.com

There are ways to extrapolate your approximate position in the game, but it is complicated and requires using data that can be up to 24 hours old.

Baked Lasagna -
Raw Wheat Tortilla +Bowl = Raw Tortilla in Bowl
Raw Tortilla in Bowl + Bowl of Carnitas = Lasagna Base
Lasagna Base + Raw Wheat Tortilla = Covered Lasagna Base
Chopped Tomato and Onion on a Plate + Bowl of Tomato Seed Pulp = Lasagna Sauce
Lasagna Sauce + Covered Lasagna Base = Lasagna and Sauce
Lasagna and Sauce + Grated Cheese (from Amon) = Lasagna
Lasagna + Oven = Baked Lasagna

Gooseberry Wine
Bowl of Gooseberries + Round Rock = Bowl of Mashed Berries
Bowl of Mashed Berries + Clay Crock = Partial Crock of Berries
Bowl of Masked Berries + Partial Crock of Berries = Partial Crock of Berries (+1)
Bowl of Masked Berries + Partial Crock of Berries (+1) = Crock of Berries
Psilocybe Mushroom + Sharp Rock = Yeast
Yeast + Bowl = Bowl of Yeast
Crock of Berries + Bowl of Yeast = Fermenting Berries
Fermenting Berries + Time = Gooseberry Wine

That was fun smile

Just some hints, take'em or don't but half your post you talk about developed town and some about eve-camp, bit confused here.

Basically, I was thinking about village design, and then I thought about, given optimum conditions and a theoretical situation, what jobs are there really to do?

So, question becomes that, in an optimal situation, are there any tasks that would be missing out of that list

#15 Re: Main Forum » Regret with griefing » 2019-06-12 23:25:51

Greifing: I'm going to wipe out that village for the lulz like I do every time I play

Not Griefing: We need that towns resources. Time to take what we need.

Not Griefing: Ok, today for this life I will play as a mercenary. My village elder has asked me to take out another village.

So, I am toying around with making a village design if I ever become eve, and one of the things Id love to see develop is people having specific jobs, and those people have specific work areas (no more stealing bowls from the kitchen to take to the forge because farmers took all the forge bowls to water crops because the farmer's bowls were taken for god knows what purpose)

The thought came to me that if I was going to name specific jobs and roles, the following is what I'd have

Farmer: Grows crops, harvests whats needed and puts into boxes for Cook
Cook: Makes food in the kitchen, stores food in the Hearth for public use
Hearth-Keeper: Stays in hearth, keeps fire going, uses sterile pads on people when needed, makes new pads
Stockman: Maintains the animals, makes soil
Woodworker: Makes wooden items for the village, including wheelbarrows and carts, maintains and replants the tree stock used by the village
Ruler: Responsible for assigning jobs to younger generation, ensures all jobs are filled (those working those jobs responsible for teaching)
Smith: Makes all metal working used by Adobe Kiln
Engineer: Makes all items using Newcomb Machines
Mechanic: Makes Rubber products(primary), Cars and Airplanes
Electrician: Makes any electronic devices and maintains radio room
Stoneworker: Builds stone walls and roads, upgrades wells and builds oil pumps

Can you think of anything in the game that is not covered in those roles above?

I caught myself looking at a tree and checking if it had a straight branch on it....

Spoonwood, I read back on my post, and realized it sounded quite hostile.

Sorry about that. I try to pride myself in not doing that, but I was out of line in some of my comments in that post

#20 Re: News » Update: Precious Life » 2019-06-09 02:55:02

Spoonwood, I think that people like me who play every life SHOULD have a better chance to be eve, not to lose out /die spammers that make playing a female frustrating.  If it was about Jason's Ego, he would make the game as he sees fit and not make ANY changes based on feedback.

You have never seen a truly egotistical designer yet I think, otherwise you would not be making such a statement.  Do you know of anything going behind the scenes, beyond the forum or discord? No.  Do you know honestly how long Jason has been trying to find a good solution? No.  As Jason has stated himself, the idea for this ultimately came from PLAYERS who saw a problem.

Now, as much as I think a choice screen is a good solution as well, it would not, on its own, stop the /die griefing, and the HUGELY unfair Eve preference to those who use /die all the time.

Yes, being able to do a /die many times in a row to become Eve is unfair to
1: Mothers who have to deal with constant interruption
2: Towns having to deal with the bone clutter
3: People who want to be Eve by playing the game as it is meant to be played

Limiting the /die with life tokens becomes an inconvenience to
1: People who use /die to force an Eve every single life they play
2: Griefers who wait till old enough to hold a bow and arrow, and kill the town

Potential issues are
1: Griefing by Mothers by killing their offspring and any offspring they can grab and run off with (had a personal experience with it)
2: New Players using up their lives quickly (which is why new players get 24 to start as a buffer

Jason already said he will keep an eye on things and adjust number of lives as needed.  How about letting it run and see how things work out before being an arse. Jason also rolled back many unpopular changes when putting this one in, as they were not as needed anymore

By the way, I have already noticed an improvement in my game play with this change.

Have you updated the client since this recent update?

#22 Re: News » Update: Precious Life » 2019-06-08 23:19:53

There was some numbers ran...   https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=6825

In a single day, suicide babies represented 55% of all deaths.

The top 20 /die users represented 40% of all baby suicide deaths

3.8 baby suicides per min.

#23 Re: News » Update: Precious Life » 2019-06-08 23:03:56

Lives recharge 1 life per hour. So if you run out, you just got to wait an hour.  Most people will recharge back to the 12 max lives while they sleep, or work or such

#24 Re: News » Update: Precious Life » 2019-06-08 22:48:30

I will say that with this update, I have noticed a remarkable decrease in /die babies. I think when our members run the numbers for this next month compared to a test month before the update, we will see what effect it truly has.

#25 Re: Main Forum » Is optimal male strategy griefing? » 2019-06-08 08:24:52

Someone in Miu family is griefing. This time I was a female, and they took me and started to run me away from home lol
