You seem to understand what I'm trying to say. People are scared of outsiders killing their family, raiders wanna raid, griefers want to kill people with no consequence.  The bringing people together update brought honestly an unexpected problem and not war swords oddly enough it's honestly the players that themselves causing the problem.

People aren't just killing other players with war swords but with bows and knives. I would honestly say the increase in violence comes from players not caring enough about other families or being too afraid to punish raiders or the paranoid. Most people including myself watch other family members kill other families and we do nothing. We justify it to ourselves that it's best to not let them in like I said out of fear.

The solution definitely wouldn't be easy to think of I do like the idea of incoporating marriage between families to do something. This might be enough of a change that the xenophobia maybe stopped and maybe people will start caring when an innocent family get set upon.

For the last two days I've really begun to feel like there is a problem here that when it comes down to it. Having other family in your village isn't worth it because of the whole one bad apple thing. There is really no incentive at all to let another family join your village because if you do your family will start a war with them or the other family will start a war with you.

Now obviously the family raiders aren't as bad as eve raiders are, but it feel so common it can really ruin your enjoyment of the game it feels like there is a murder in every game for me lately and with raiders and griefrs both contributing to the murder pool it leaves me feeling like every game is violent unless I'm lucky enough to born into an eve camp or I run away from my city to start my own camp. I am actually one of the players that generally prefers city life over camp life because it much easier and less stressful to actually stop and form bonds with other people if I can use a few minutes throughout my life to stop and chat with my family or other families if we can understand each other over a camp life where every moment counts or your camp will literally implode in on itself.

I understand that Jason's vision is to try to differentiate the families from each other and I think that cool and I enjoy the language update just right now its a case of if you have a baby and it says "DIE" KILL" or rude things you usually let the baby die because it isn't worth risking to see if its a troll or not. Accepting other families into your village can be really dangerous and this cause people to be hostile to outsiders because they'd rather not take the risk and it creates one big cycle that will result in burn out for everyone involved.

I'll be taking a break for a few days and maybe when I come back it might not seem so bad, but today and yesterday it seems like there was a murder in every life. Some worst than others.

I was your grandma Kim and reading this I was so happy that at least one of my grandkids survived! I definitely am not used to combat and it was a really sad end of the life seeing your family die all around you and your slowly bleeding out..

You had so many girls thank you for saving our family line I hope it continues to go on! Were you the granddaughter that wanted to come with me and go exploring? I really did enjoy this life my mom gave birth to me but she was spaced out so my dad Lady Waters took me to the berry bush and fed me. He was a quiet man but he was an awesome dad when I grew older I decided to go cut some wood to make boards and when I got back the first raid happen and this raider I never saw them killed at least two people before being stopped quickly. I was mostly spared cause I was way South of town  After that was when I started having your uncles, your aunt, and your mom. They were all good kids proud to have been their mom. In my old age was when the second raid happened and as detailed in your post basically everyone was dying all around me as I couldn't do pvp that well.

PS: The second raider Love Aaberg basically said she did it cause of the sword update but a griefer is still a griefer raider or not.

So I was part of the Waters family at generation 7 definitely been a few hours since I last played. I found that living that life there was at least two raid attacks on the Waters town resulting in all my kids and me being killed except my granddaughter Bless who actually posted their own story. Overall I feel like swords  are a horrible weapon and it sucks that they do help griefers against people that aren't as good at combat and I'm sorry about your life being filled with chaos because of them. sad I do have a question though did your family migrate to the Waters town or did the Waters come to yours? If there was a building by the berry farm it was the same town I played in .

I definitely agree with Tarr that having your mother take you with her is a far more meaningful experience than being plopped down by the fire, but I could honestly still see child rearing as still a commitment. I wouldn't say have your baby always being fed and you'd have to grab them out of the harness or whatever to feed them occasionally.

I think this would be a great way to improve the baby experience and frankly if your harness has limitations this isn't a complete solution to the baby problem and would create some interesting situation where you'll be forced to stop working and either take care of them both or put one at the fire and with still having to feed them it doesn't remove the hassle from having a baby just allows you to bond more with your kid.

Hello so I've been playing since the steam apocalypse and mostly been lurking the forums for a long time and finally decided to bring up my own suggestion after this latest update concerning change of everyone having the same colored babies. I honestly am a big fan of this change mainly because it separated the darker and lightest skintone from the more neutral variants of both allowing us to actually be able to play them more commonly as my favorite character is the new red hair girl.

Now this suggestion is going to assume your already familiar with the suggestions for marriage by making gold rings with potential benefits such as increase birthrates for married couples, linked families tree, understanding the other languages and these are all good things! I'm hoping Jason will eventually add this in some form or another.

My suggestion is this instead of keeping all families one race we incorporate this alongside marriage lets say your born into the ginger families and your neighbors got the black family. If two people from separate families get married and deal with the language barrier but still find a way to find love or maybe a political marriage the gene from the fathers families get added to her pool and she now can have both color of babies, a linked family tree with her husband, and the ability to understand both languages. These benefits she gets will pass onto her children and if her daughters get married to another family of a different race they would get added to her genes & language pool and so forth. This would create some really interesting situations where maybe you decide to set out and you discover another family living by but because your parents got married you could understand them as maybe one of your parents was originally from here. It would also encourage some of the more daring to set out to find a partner in another village nearby and all the drama that could create.

Overall that is my main suggestion and I feel like it would be worth the effort to be added because if Jason adds more characters or another race into the mix this system would still continue to work without needing much of a change. It would also work for some sorta genetic system where each character is a mixture of different genes from the gene pool as suggested previously and today too I believe! Any thoughts on this idea?
