No we were brown family. The Janeways.
interesting, I assume you were white / polyglot fam
I was born a in a fairly large town as a baby girl to Sina a peasant woman, daughter of the town baker. Although our family was not rich my mother loved me. My mother took on the job as Wet nurse, raising all young newborns. When I grew old enough I journeyed out of the nursery to explore our great town and discover my life purpose. I found an empty plot of land and built a fence. I was determined to become a seamstress.
While gathering materials for my shop I came across an old woman who was being imprisoned in a locked cabin in the woods. I ran back to town to tell the King Richard. I found the town in disarray. The king had passed and his son Timmon had taken the thrown. He was a tyrant only seeking power and uncaring for his people. His only weakness pretty girls and his ego. I ran after our so called ''leader'' who was brandishing a bow to shoot any who questioned his rule. I pleaded with him ''oh great leader thank goodness I found you, a woman is trapped she needs your help'' He ignored me at first until I laid it on thick. ''All hail our great ruler breaker of chains he will save us'' He fell for it. I began to lead him down the path in the woods. I knew the old lady had passed away by now but I had a new goal. Accession to the thrown.
For you see the Timmon was so busy causing fear and intimidation into his subjects and forcing them to feed him. He didn't think to pack a bag of food before the journey. My belly full from all the goodies my grandpa the town baker gave me I knew I was prepared. When we arrived at the cabin we found the corpse of the old lady. The ironic thing is the torture cabin was built by his evil mother. The King began to look pale a sure sign the hunger was taking him.
He asked for food as he began to starve. I feigning innocence began to rummage through my bag looking for a morsel to keep him alive. ''Oh no, I don't have any food hurry lets run back to town my king''. Not even half way back to town he fell over skin and bones.
I pulled the golden crown from his corpse.
As i returned to town I discovered my mother had died in the famine the old king had caused with his greed. My old play mate a boy my mother had nursed along side me Raphael (Timmons younger brother) was now our named King. I was unsure if he would follow in his mother an brothers tyrannical rule or if he would take up the honor his father had tried to impart.
I knew I needed to get close. Now disguised as one of nobility with my fancy clothes and crown taken from his murdered brother I approached the young king. As I got closer i could see he had grown very handsome indeed. No longer the little toddler sharing a bouncy pall in the play pen with me. Since my mother had been his wet nurse I had hope for him as a ruler. However I was not going to leave the fate of my people to chance. So looking at this young teen-aged king I knew what I had to do. oh you know .
Hook Line and Sinker he was MINE!
Now that his heart belonged to me I decided it was safe to plead my case. ''My king, my love our people are starving we have no oil for the engine to run the well, without water our crops are failing. The Harvests are barely enough to feed our people and our livestock is dying. The Baker died in the last famine and our kitchens cupboards are bare.''
He immediately issued a decree " Two people report to the kitchen for pie duty, one person focus the remaining water on berries and carrots only for pies. We can reseed the other crops after we have fixed the well.''
My younger brother appeared in the kitchen, "I am the bakers grandson, I can farm the crops but my grandfather passed before he could teach me how to cook my mother and older siblings have passed as well in the famine. It is just I and my little sister remaining from the baker line. She will not be of any help either my king." It was then that he realized it was me his big sister believed to have been lost to the wilderness standing crowned next to the king.
Aware that it is treason to impersonate a noble he said nothing. King Raphael began to frown and I could tell he was deep in thought. A spark shown in his eyes and he grabbed my hand and whisked me away. He finally stopped outside the gate of the Palace. ''You own this now'' he said and he installed a second gate for me. I was taken a back. He had just handed me half of his power. His subjects were now mine as well. He had named me his queen. He embraced me. With one last kiss he mounted his saddle on his horse. ''I have to go get water to save our people. search the town for someone to make pies, I love you I will return.'' ''I love you too" I said and I meant it. I had never before seen a king willing to save his people to such an extent. I hoped he made it back in time.
I ran to my brother I told him the kings plan to return with water. I gathered the berries and carrots my brother had harvested. The last of our towns stock and baked them into pies. It was no where near enough so I had to limit everyone to one slice. The old gave their portions to their children and grandchildren opting to go in peace in hopes their heirs would live on. I soon gave birth to a boy Jolon. The new heir to the kingdom. I raised him in the kitchen as I worked to make bread from what little grain remained in reserves. I told him of his Papa the great king and the hope of our people. My husbands uncle now old passed on his crown to him telling him of his brother the good king and warning him to stay on the path of righteousness lest he wind up like the tyrant of old Timmon.
My husband returned. He came with barrels of water overflowing for our crops. The drought was over. Our reunion was blissful as he met his son and named him his heir. Jolon was handed the world on a silver platter surrounded by love. We soon had another child Misty, my little princess. No sooner was she born then King Raphael told me he must leave again. He needed to go to a foreign kingdom to exchange our kingdoms rubber for their oil to fix our city's well. He embraced me and like that he was gone. As my belly grew again I anticipated his return. I gave birth to another boy a young prince Kris. The moment he was born I could tell he was what we call in LOP a Peerless Talent with unlimited Potential. As I raised him I told him the truth of my origins. I told him of my dream to become a seamstress but that I knew I had a calling for something greater. I showed him my old sewing shop, I showed him the skills of my Baker family's trade. I introduced him to his uncle Richard the farmer. I sang him lullabies of his grandma the wet nurse and her kind heart. I told him of his father, not only a ruler but a true hero. When he was old enough he took to the kitchen baking as my grandpa had before me. I realized for the first time I was truly proud of one of my children. Jolon now in his teens was standoffish and lazy. Though I loved him I could tell he had no ambition. I tried reaching out to him bonding more, He didn't seem interested.
My daughter Misty decided she would bridge peace and left on horse to find her father in the foreign land. She vowed to marry their Prince to negotiate more oil for our kingdom. No sooner did she leave then she returned with her father a Ginger queen a young ginger prince a baby and OIL!!!
Our nations now united by marriage our peoples survival was ensured.
Upon my husbands return we had another child. A princess I named Belladonna. Like her brother Kris I told her the truth of her origins and mine. Although I gave her a crown of gold I clothed her in a blanket of sheep fur. The family reunion was sweet and much needed. My husband told each of our children how happy he was to have them and how proud he was of all of them. Jolon, Misty, Kris and Belladonna. He apologized. He had to leave us one last time. He had already negotiated to have oil delivered to our town but Misty's Marriage to their prince had also gotten us some much needed Iron. With the iron our town would be able to advance greatly. He was off once more. I saw him off hoping this was the last time we would ever need to be apart.
I took Belladonna to the kitchen to teach her the ways of the Baker line. Out of the kitchen window to my horror I saw Prince Jolon slaughtering our livestock. A cold dead stare on his face. I rushed out into the pen cursing him for what he had done. He laughed and ran off. I ran through town warning the other of what he had done. I ran to the Palace to ring the bell for my husband to return. I hoped he was close enough still to hear the alarm
I tucked belladonna in her crib in the nursery and armed myself with a weapon. I had to now do the hardest job I would ever have to do as queen. Kill my own son to save my people. I ran to the armory grabbing a bow and arrows. When I returned to town I saw Jolon running with Belladonna. He set her down in the crop fields wanting all to witness what he was about to do. He drew his knife just as I caught up with him. All my doubt of some possible redemption for him was gone. I had to save my baby. I let loose my arrow in the knick of time. He bled out as my brother and his two children , my baby and I watched. He spewed hate and venomous curses for our city. Claiming the advancement of our nation was corruption and the blending of the bloods was disgusting. Damning his mixed blood nieces and nephews with his last breaths. All I could do was tell him how disappointed I was in him.
With his passing once again the kingdom was thriving and in peace. With our new found resources the people were growing. Misty and her husband moved away to his home kingdom where she unfortunately passed during child birth of her third child who did survive her. My husband King Raphael retired giving the throne to our son Kris who was called King Kris the humble by the people. I got to watch my many grandchildren grow and spent the remainder of my years telling them stories in the nursery. Tales of our peasant origins, how a peasant became a concubine who became a Queen. I told them of the heroics of their Royal blood. I warned them of the sinful evil that only leads to ruin.
As our time neared the king and I spent our last days with one another, when he died my heart broke and I followed him into the after life.
I was born a boy to a new mom who didn't know how to name kids. I had a big sister who was mistakenly named my when mom said you are my baby? I was named by my grandma Dayya she named me Icarus. I spent my early childhood helping the town shepherd feed his flock. My big sister had her first child when I was 12. She named her bb girl deadrea (of course, she really wanted to name her dead) My sister was cold and stand offish from her newborn I believe she suffered post partum lol. So I clothed her and supervised her interactions with her mom to make sure she was receiving proper care. I believe it was a direct result of her bad relationship with our mother that caused this.
After the birth of my niece the shepherd passed away and I became head of the flock. I began harvesting the sheep's wool for clothes and culling the fat overfed one for meat pies and mutton steaks. I had a young boy close to my age who wanted to help me watch the growing flock and we spent our time caring for the berry bushes and carrot fields to feed the young lambs as they grew. During this time my sister gave birth to a bb boy. As I ran to greet the new offspring my sister said some unkind words to it before I arrived and it promptly died of SIDS. My sister spent the rest of her days in succumbing to her mental illness. She sulked around naked until the age of forty when she ran into the wild to be mauled by a bear.
My niece deadra now 18 had become the town's rabbit trapper. She would come and go from town with her cart of furs to trade. Later on she gave birth to a bb girl herself. She was a good mom and named her daughter Berry and clothed her well in the furs she had caught. She took her child with her everywhere always watchful of danger.
In my 30s while on the outside of town with the flock grazing I heard the cry of a newborn. I ran towards the sound and found an infant covered in the blood of its mother who had died protecting it from a pack of wolves. The child was starving and on the verge of death. I rushed it back to town where I was able to feed her a bowl of milk from our cow. I named her Miranda. I brought her to the nursery and entrusted her care to my cousin who was breastfeeding her own toddler by the fireplace. After a long day tending to the flock I would come check on my adopted daughter. I would bring her many gifts. A new dress a new bag a pretty hat which I had fashioned out of the skin of the wolf that killed her mother lol. She was grateful, she was a good child.
As she grew she decided she wanted to learn the black smithing trade. For my 45th birthday she brought me a new shovel and sheep shears to replace my old outdated ones. For the remainder of my life I enjoyed making wool sweaters and weaving pants for my three grandsons. Every new child Miranda had she knew to come show them off to grandpa. I died of old age surrounded by my niece, her daughter, my daughter and three grandsons. They promised to bury me in the fields I raised my sheep.
During the Rift, nothing lasted for months. The Rift was constantly reaching a failure state and getting wiped.
Yea I may have exaggerated the months thing but they builds sure lasted alot longer then they do now lol
My personnal favorite solution would be to have a realistic map so not infinite and with some biomes separated by oceans, this would solve the issue of travel, multiracial village etc.
Since the biomes would be way far appart even separated by natural barriers like oceans having multi racial villages would not be an issue, you would have to travel and even make outpost and distant cities either way.
So you would trade with other cities depending on their surrounding biomes and not necessarly trade with other races.
This would also solve the issue with iron since it would be naturally limited by the map not being infinite so the weird current iron system could be removed aswell.
. YES, JASON PLEASE MAKE OCEANS, MAKE RAFTS, BOATS, AND SHIPS! MAKE BIOMES SEPARATED BY "CONTINENTS"!! such a good solution.
I was thinking about history, if we had memorable events or places after iron update and holemands and I don't think so. World was more realistic when there was big towns and small settlements.
Exactly! I feel the rift was the most realistic, it was to small to support the population long enough for our liking though. I think if we brought the rift back but bigger it would do great this time. Alot of iron, bear and tarry updates fixed the old issues the community complained about.
B A 10,000k rift would be suitable maybe. Alot of the new hardcore community users don't even know what the rift was. I think they would appreciate it more then the original recievers. The biggest complaint I hear in game is that the building and town's don't last and it feels like you work for nothing. Those big rift castles lasting months were the best!
Being bear griefed is annoying huh? I seem to remember someone releasing hundreds and hundred of bears about a year ago
The bear rift was a nightmare that still haunts my soul.
Had to teach a new player who wanted to make clothes for everyone ?. Took us 20 minutes to get a huge ball. They got so excited and put it on the loom. Then I had to crush their soul an tell them we were only half way done and that it was only going to make one outfit. They promptly did a fuck the shit I'm out about face and decided they didn't want to play anymore... ?♀️
YES YES YES!!!!
I think it would be pretty neat if the Leader could assign job titles. Same as with an Exile. I name Amira Rabbit Wet Nurse. Reed Miracle is town builder. Harry Litos job is Cook.

I feel like everything else has moved on to the power age. However our looms are still made of sticks an wire, and our ovens are still made out of clay??? Lets upgrade the most basic and necessary survival skills please.
My thoughts/suggestions: For Clothing lets get a Spool of thread and a Power Loom. Short shaft with 16 balls of thread. The Spool works the same as dung buckets do with dung boxes. You just add individual thread balls to it but you can not load the Spool into the Power Loom until you fill the spool. Once the Spool is loaded into the Power Loom (The Spool is actually called a shuttle with pirn, weird name but ok) you can power it to get 4 bolts of Cloth! Yes I believe the Power Loom should capitalize on being more resource cost efficient, Taking only half as much wool then the original Loom. The First Power Loom invented by Paul Moody was steam run. So Water and Coal would be needed to have it function same as with the Distiller. Here is a Wikipedia about the power loom for your curiosity and reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_loom
As for the Knitting side of clothing Lets get some scarfs, and gloves! Adding a Knitting Machine would go hand in hand with the Power Loom, The Griswold Knitting Machine was complete with a Spool of yarn capable of outputting multiple items and holding multiple different colored spools atop it. For reference: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File … chine.jpeg
Another Logical addition to the Clothing industry of OHOL would be a more advanced way to Dye fabric. So there is Large scale industrial Textile Dye machines but I think we need an in between from a bowl on some coals to THAT! So for the in between I found a …. well I'm not sure what its called and this was the only image I could find of it https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File … chine.jpeg p.s. They have an email at the bottom of the blog if someone wanted to email them and just be like ''Hey what is this confounded contraption lol''
It appears to be two giant crocks connected to one another by the power source (probably electricity but like the power loom we could substitute it with kerosene or steam powered) One crock is filled with Mordant/Alum and the other is filled with the dye. You can Load all your fabrics in the Mordant and then transfer all your fabrics into the Dye of your choice. With the Introduction of the Dyeing Machine I feel it would make more sense to be allowed to dye whole bolts of cloth. Realistically Dyeing 3 or 4 bolts of cloth in one pot at a time rather then dying individual clothing items.
For the Oven!!!! A Stew Stove! My mouth is already watering! Could you imagine finally getting a STOVE TOP! baking pies inside while bubbling some stew pots on top! Once the Stew is done YOU CAN TAKE IT OFF THE STOVE AND SERVE IT ON THE TABLE! HALLELUJAH!! lol I MEAN LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL THING! https://prezi.com/fw9zetp1msmf/oven-tim … c1aca2a264
The Stew Stove invented in 1735 was the earliest oven after the Clay Oven. After that the people invented the ever so ''Fancy'' Count Rumford. This huge hunk of metal was able to cook two things inside at different temps as well as Multiple pots on top also adjusting to different temps. For in game purposes I think we should Nix the whole different temp idea (no one has time to check tech tree every time for a temp reading for a pie and I feel like this would make players go its more efficient to get perfect food every time with the clay oven then it is to try an get a good pie temp on this shit lol)
I'm really excited about this and I hope it gains a lot of traction and directly effects in game play SOON! WE LOVE YOU JASON LETS KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!
I tried to get on last night for some hardcore grinding, stocking up on stuff for the morning influx but quick quickly scratched that idea. I was bb napped immediately after birth 4 times in a row. I wish I wasn't so heated over it at the time lol. It made me forget to screenshot those bitches names. First I was snatched by my eleventh cousin who then told my mom 'don't worry you work ill feed her' My mom went back to work and my eleventh cousins grandma came in an snatched me. She ran me to the jungle an dropped me on mosquitos, she got bit to so I got to watch her panic but still RIP. Second time young man took me an dropped me on a wolf, my mom didn't even notice I was born.
Third time I was born and my mom said follow. I did and then boom bb napper came up from behind ran me to the mountain just outside of town an bear. Last time I was born my mom was good but she got old 3 seconds after I was born. My 14 year old cousin pretended like she would raise me while my mom went to get popcorn. She ran with me as soon as my mom left the nursery. She dropped me on a rattlesnake. Sigh. I miss the fact that you could run from people who were not your mom immediately after birth.
thank you for that lol wondible
Racism is idea that some races are better, therefore they should rule, conquer and wipe out others. But every races in OHOL has limitations, there are no supreme ones. People confuse racism with race characteristics.
Yes which is why I don't care if specialty is still a thing but the separation of it. telling us we cant live with them because they aren't our family is segregation.
Yesterday my last life I had a son and three daughters. When I logged on today I wanted to check the tree see how long my line continued an see my gene score. My kids all show for my genes score however, One of my daughters is non existent in the family tree its the weirdest thing. Anyone else have missing kids from the tree but they show up on gene score?? http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=6301827 I was Fate, My daughters were Miranda Amara and Zalina. Amara is missing from my gene score.
You want better?
How about this then: Whatever special bio-me your Eve chooses to settle in is what the family is allowed to interact in and if she chooses one of the more generic ones, you are out of luck for the desert, arctic & jungle.
The system as it exists is inherently racist. The removal of it isn't politically correct, it is just the right thing to do if you believe all races can perform the same basic tasks as depicted in the game. Anyone who argues otherwise is a racist in my book. Skin tones should be so that everyone feels included in the game, not used as stereotypes of race x is good at y.
The_Anabaptist
I love the eve settlement well specialty idea. It would be a suitable replacement for the vision he has but more loving an less prejudice.
I feel like this will also help keep a family alive for more generations, even a pseudo eve could move a few bio-mes over later and start a second town and so then your eleventh cousins could specialize in Arctic things and the main family branch can specialize in the jungle and then you could go to your neighbors who live in the dessert etc.
Its not fair that a family that has been alive for eighty generations has to die out because the Ginger family is a eve camp and cant do shit to help them with their water famine because they are no where near advanced enough to provide kero.
I think my all time favorite of WBSteve is when he was a police officer for a day lol!! I was with him in the one where he was male. I made him his blue officer uniform. https://youtu.be/3XZAYhvao5o
End the racict specializations while you are at it.
That shit is seriously messed up and has been from the start. Games should not promote prejudice based on skin tones.
Vanilla lives matter.
That's actually true, I hated it from the start I was away for awhile and when I came back it was the dumbest shit to drop my items an not understand why I was acting weird and couldn't pick things up in certain bio-mes! Also on the vanilla lives matter thing lol I really do feel like the whites got the short end of the stick for many reasons.
1. they don't have a special bio-me so other families don't need them.
2. the fact that other families don't need them makes it hard to strike a fair trade. The white family will usually die out due to lack of specialized resources needed to progress an upgrade.
3. even if someone wanted to be nice an deliver goods specific to their race to other families to help them survive they would have no way of finding the white family home town. they have no map markers for white experts. At the very least Jason could add a green or savanna bio-me marker to locate "language experts home well" lol poor Vanilla lives
why did you pick these ones? There are way funnier ones that don't have him being a misogynist.
I know we are not all American but I saw that other country's are protesting with the Black Lives Matter movement and I just was thinking how nice it would be to see some unity on this game.
Can we, ... even if its just for the rest of this month just get rid of the "family claimed well" system??
I miss so much being able to live together with other families! Lets just for this month get rid of the family well breeding spot! Allow us to choose to live together. Its kinda saddening that this game forces us to separate by race...... its kinda racist it is after all separation at its true form.
Even just for this month could you imagine the amazing Mega city we could build as an online community! Having all four races raising kids together! We would actually be able to see each other learning the languages again. When was the last time you were able to understand another family other then a white person? I can see a Beautiful Castle like Mega City with good walls to keep bears out. I giant courtyard garden with every crop from every bio-me. A city where we want for nothing so can make cars an planes for fun! try out making all the different paints, all the different clothes color. A mega city with all different skin colors!
Jason I'm not trying to call you out man, but, I was just thinking about it all and its just a funny coincidence.. It seems like your trying to make us hate each other. implementing the language barrier, then adding the war sword, then only allowing certain races into specific places, and now we can't even live together.... As a multiracial person married to person who doesn't share any of my race its kinda disappointing. Also side note: you still haven't added the Asians you promised us before bio-me restrictions.
Yea my family yesterday was doomed we have the closest brown family to us was 43k away!!!!!! Ive tested it out before when I was sent to donkey town when the curse system was still fudged and I from the age of 14 to the age of 60 only made it 9k on foot. the next spawn I was black so I actually got a horse but I still only made it about 14k on horse I left at 19 instead of fifteen that time.
I out maneuvered my Bobo killers today heehee. I was Boots Tracheithasejsjifjisdfis what ever the hell that long ass last name is. I was born to my mom goddess who named me an left me in the care of my cousin Max. As he fed me by the fire he was brutally attacked an cursed by the griefer pair, Autmn an eleventh cousin an Raidiance his own lil sis! They began killing us all as Autumn was our leader.
I was to lil to tell others to unfollow her. she killed everyone but me a lil toddler runnig around hiding in the sheep pen. ducking an dodging them. I had two uncles who begged me to follow them as they ran, Irving an irwin.
I stayed knowing I would be this families only hope. I stayed on the outskirts till I was fourteen. Then I came into town to birth a baby girl. Now that I had my Miracle I knew what I had to do. I ran her north to our red headed neighbors.
I wrote them a note asking for sanctuary for my baby. Willow an her mother we kind and cared for her. I went back home to keep an eye on the griefers. Sneaking in every few minutes to water the berry bushes they were trying to let die lol.
Once Autumn died I became the new leader an inherited her property that she had locked all the horses an food in. Radiance ran from town an died in the wild. I went north to get my bb girl an bring her home. We began rebuilding and she gave birth to her own little girl. We survived Bobo. Suck it! UUUUUUNFORTUNATLY we had a new griefer born as my granbb an she fed her kid who she named bobo to a wild boar before she starved herself... lol
I love this idea!
