I feel like everything else has moved on to the power age. However our looms are still made of sticks an wire, and our ovens are still made out of clay??? Lets upgrade the most basic and necessary survival skills please.
My thoughts/suggestions: For Clothing lets get a Spool of thread and a Power Loom. Short shaft with 16 balls of thread. The Spool works the same as dung buckets do with dung boxes. You just add individual thread balls to it but you can not load the Spool into the Power Loom until you fill the spool. Once the Spool is loaded into the Power Loom (The Spool is actually called a shuttle with pirn, weird name but ok) you can power it to get 4 bolts of Cloth! Yes I believe the Power Loom should capitalize on being more resource cost efficient, Taking only half as much wool then the original Loom. The First Power Loom invented by Paul Moody was steam run. So Water and Coal would be needed to have it function same as with the Distiller. Here is a Wikipedia about the power loom for your curiosity and reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_loom
As for the Knitting side of clothing Lets get some scarfs, and gloves! Adding a Knitting Machine would go hand in hand with the Power Loom, The Griswold Knitting Machine was complete with a Spool of yarn capable of outputting multiple items and holding multiple different colored spools atop it. For reference: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File … chine.jpeg
Another Logical addition to the Clothing industry of OHOL would be a more advanced way to Dye fabric. So there is Large scale industrial Textile Dye machines but I think we need an in between from a bowl on some coals to THAT! So for the in between I found a …. well I'm not sure what its called and this was the only image I could find of it https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File … chine.jpeg p.s. They have an email at the bottom of the blog if someone wanted to email them and just be like ''Hey what is this confounded contraption lol''
It appears to be two giant crocks connected to one another by the power source (probably electricity but like the power loom we could substitute it with kerosene or steam powered) One crock is filled with Mordant/Alum and the other is filled with the dye. You can Load all your fabrics in the Mordant and then transfer all your fabrics into the Dye of your choice. With the Introduction of the Dyeing Machine I feel it would make more sense to be allowed to dye whole bolts of cloth. Realistically Dyeing 3 or 4 bolts of cloth in one pot at a time rather then dying individual clothing items.
For the Oven!!!! A Stew Stove! My mouth is already watering! Could you imagine finally getting a STOVE TOP! baking pies inside while bubbling some stew pots on top! Once the Stew is done YOU CAN TAKE IT OFF THE STOVE AND SERVE IT ON THE TABLE! HALLELUJAH!! lol I MEAN LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL THING! https://prezi.com/fw9zetp1msmf/oven-tim … c1aca2a264
The Stew Stove invented in 1735 was the earliest oven after the Clay Oven. After that the people invented the ever so ''Fancy'' Count Rumford. This huge hunk of metal was able to cook two things inside at different temps as well as Multiple pots on top also adjusting to different temps. For in game purposes I think we should Nix the whole different temp idea (no one has time to check tech tree every time for a temp reading for a pie and I feel like this would make players go its more efficient to get perfect food every time with the clay oven then it is to try an get a good pie temp on this shit lol)
I'm really excited about this and I hope it gains a lot of traction and directly effects in game play SOON! WE LOVE YOU JASON LETS KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!

Had to teach a new player who wanted to make clothes for everyone ?. Took us 20 minutes to get a huge ball. They got so excited and put it on the loom. Then I had to crush their soul an tell them we were only half way done and that it was only going to make one outfit. They promptly did a fuck the shit I'm out about face and decided they didn't want to play anymore... ?♀️
