Your mother would first have to initiate the conversation with a code word, "EXP" or something like that.

Then you can reply back with a code indicating that you can help her build the camp.

I think some people may have misread this and took it to mean that the baby is supposed to say three letters, not the mother. xD

So it would look like:
[baby is born]
Mother: EXP?
Baby: Q (or X or whatever)

I like this a lot, partly because an added advantage might be that experienced players who don't use forums may still figure out what the question is trying to ask and be able to type 'Y'. Because while I agree that most players who use forums probably know the game well, I'm sure there are also players who know the game well but don't use forums.

For example, I've been pretty familiar with the entire tech tree since well before I joined the forums or Discord (and even now I'm not very active on either)--I learned most stuff in-game, looked stuff up on the Wiki if I was completely stumped, and kept up with content updates by looking at the update logs on the main page. I'm sure there are many others like me, and even players who don't go on the forums at all but manage learn everything either in-game or on the Wiki.

So I think we should focus more on coming up with good Y/N prompt questions rather than secret letters, for the same reasons that it would be useful to have a signal letter like Q in the first place. (And if it's really important there could still be a secret letter response to these same questions which would just give you the extra information that the player also uses forums).

I see a lot of people ask "Are you new?" but I find that a little too vague (since someone who's been in the game for a while might not know certain things). And of course there's always "Do you know ___?" but it can get old to ask many times. So something like "EXP?" or "Are you experienced?" or "Do you know all tech?" could be a good alternative.

I think "Q" is really good, when you are first baby of an Eve. When shes on forum too she knows, that you can help quickly with building farm and you show her very quick that you can be a help. The next babies can be new, Eve has already one who can help, and she has more time to teach the new baby, cause the Q-baby can build farm in this time

I heard that wells are refilling when you build it next to a pond, is that true?

#3 Re: Main Forum » The path to progress is through education » 2018-04-10 22:30:48

When im an Eve, Ill try to teach my kids, but its not that easy, most of the time they starving. and I just have time for the MUST-KNOW things, like "dont empty ponds" "just farm milkweed when its fruiting" "stay close to food at start" (in a new farm im just going to a bush, eating an waiting, Im no help when im dying cause theres no food...)  but its not that easy, to manage a farm, feed yourself AND teach

I think new player should read the forum. Thats how I was learning to survive. Same with the other things, im reading wiki.
Most of the time you have no time (or he/she), to ask someone to show you something.
Before last update (with the Food) it was a little more easier. You had more time to teach until you have to eat something(for example)

Aye, what Turnip said.

Only once have I stumbled across any signs of other people when I have recently spawned as a new eve. It feels kind of lonely, tbh. Thats why a new Eve's job is to setup all of the basics and pass it to her daughter(s). Live to 60, and then respawn in the same camp to keep building and learning as you go.

Aye it is rough. It hurts a lil when you barely manage to get it all together before you are too
old. Today I lived till 60 and had duel forges oven bellows and a ~15 berry bush farm RIGHT
next to a 5 pack of ponds with a few more a few screens away.

I didn't have time to make myself any clothes etc, just trying to set something up. I tried the
live to 60 thing so many I could eve myself back there and set up a good town, the spot was
pretty damn nice. Alas I spawned into a carrot farm tribe, who know not the way of the
'BERI'.... heretical soil wasters..

im always hoping, that i found such a farm or any of my farms, that i built, but i dont have luck sad

Hi
I build so many Camps, as an Eve or the baby of an Eve, but im getting tired doing always the same. I want to learn the other things, like building a house or smth like that.
But how can i find a Camp, that already exists? Is there a trick?
Ofc, I can run and run and run...but I never found one, this way. Or I can reborn so many times that Im spawning in such a small village, but that is all taking so much time, so is there a shorter way? hope you can help me, teaching the "upper" skills, im done with basic big_smile

#12 Re: Main Forum » Apocalypse 5 » 2018-04-06 22:19:39

I thought that too, played a few hours now. building, getting kids, working hard to come forward. now its all gone, AGAIN!

#13 Re: Main Forum » So the Apocalypse is here » 2018-04-06 13:19:32

Really? 4th apocalypse in few hours? I bought this game yesterday and I had so much fun YESTERDAY, but today its just annoying, starting from beginning, and got no chance to build a camp. Hope he will soon get away with this stupid apocalypse. there is no more fun in this game, and I think in a few hours, no one will play it.
