a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building

"Walking simulator" is generally used as a pejorative, it's a way to call out a game for its lack of interactivity, it being closer in likeness to just a hiking experience than to a game that presents puzzles, challenges, etc. Obviously you're joking but OHOL doesn't fall under the genre of walking simulators simply because it's not just walking. A walking simulator is also almost always narration driven, not survival driven.
Did you forget about the curse overhaul? Curses don't work as a score now, it works as a person to person basis. If you curse someone, they will not be born to you and you won't be born to them. (I don't remember the specifics) That's all it is now.
Please don't say "we" as if everyone agrees with you. There is an explicit group of people that is against property.
If people stopped replying to a post, it's probably because people generally agree that there is no use discussing the issue further. Necroing those posts is thus useless and disruptive, as people are not actually interested in continuing the conversation except for one lone person. They should make a new post to recontextualize it to the current situation. That's all.
My solution is to make a small cage outside of town for when you want to drop off any personal items or starve a baby.
I'm all in for musical instruments you can choose to hear or ignore. Problem is Jason will be like: "but in real life, you can't just magically stop hearing your neighbor's music. You have to go ask them to play it at a more acceptable volume."
As has been stated with every one of these birth defect suggestions is; why would you not just suicide immediately after being born with a birth defect? What would be the point of intentionally handicapping myself for an hour?
Not everyone plays the game as a survival simulator. A good chunk of the playerbase is in it for the roleplay, for meeting others, for living cool stories. And having a disability just so happens to be a cool, unusual story. You'd get attention from others, you'd need to come up with solutions to live as you are, etc. Being different is fun.
It has no beneficial purpose, and I am against it. However, your questions aren't that useful, as you're just going off of how you play the game, not how others do.
The only use is roleplay, and people on the forums have an absolute hatred of roleplay. I guess OHOL just isn't the game for this, though I would love to see a similar game have such features.
Entertainment? That's the need. Parenting or building or interacting is just the way to achieve it.
Fuck off Spoon no ones gonna read three pages of outdated debates just because you dug it up for your own amusement.
The fact that you can't see your own rank might have to do with the use of a modified client.
Veganism is only relevant in the context of late stage capitalism and the mass exploitation of animals.
Just use the hetuw and you won't even need badges, the names are colored by relevancy to your gene score.
Lol, I was Linus. Not my fault if auntie Lara was a hoe.
There are no likes or upvotes, but yeah, that's how it goes ; you post your stories here and if Jason finds it meaningful or well written or just enjoys it, he might add you to User Stories. I don't know if it's been updated recently though? Either way, feel free to write about your lives here, people will read them.
Hey, could we just try it? I'm not in favor of this system either but y'all sound like babies who refuse to eat something before having even tasted it, only because it theoretically is bad. Let's just try it for a hot second.
Eves come from the same place as Sky Babies.
It is a mythical jungle biome where yellow fever doesn't exist, your temperature is always perfect, every kind of wild food grows in abundance and a single gooseberry fills your bar to full.
You could make a religion out of this!
There's a few problems with that though. If you name someone from another family, they keep their own family name. Why would it be different here? The child would only have a first name. Also, the message autocorrects when you name someone or yourself, so "I am so sorry" would not look like this if it had been the message that gave Eve a family name...
"I don't understand English colloquialisms, such as using 'it' for a newborn, so I am going to murder you."
So... straw or fur beds?
I saw it when it was still being built. I really like the design, it reminds me of ancient roman villas for the rich families.
Or maybe digging the rabbit hole could cause it to relocate to a random adjacent empty tile, so they could be "moved" without destroying them completely. The rabbits abandon one spot and make a new home close by.
Now you just want rabbit farms to be made.
Scavenging doesn't require tools, but crafting does? Who would have thought...
Truth be told, I encountered many people who still need to learn about farming, smithing and cooking. I'm not sure they're ready yet, I know it took me many hours to finally achieve a balance between surviving, working and learning.
That was already the case originally. I believe it was scrapped to prevent griefing by depleting all the bushes in an instant (and stashing the bowls away).
