The above might come as a reminder for some. Personally, I had forgotten about it.
I'm not claiming that all children come as women's responsibility is a good feature or bad feature of the game. I'm just saying here that the game currently is designed such that all children end up as women's responsibility, specifically the responsibility of those who can breastfeed.
Why do I say this?
Today I got born to a mother who was already in her late 30s. I use Hetuw mod and can tell when someone turns old by hovering over them. My mom turned old. I was still unable to feed myself. Another player who Eve-chains on the server sometimes in a town some hundreds of tiles away spawned as an Eve right next to us, even though there were less than 4 fertile females on the server. Thus, the game is designed that breastfeeding children comes as intended as every fertile female's responsibility.

Everyone's responsible and nobody's responsible. Anyone can feed from a berrybowl if they want to help a baby. Anyone can ditch their baby at the nursery if they're too busy to mother. Both are fine and intended. Sometimes a teen mom's unexpected pregnancy means that grandma has to raise the baby. It happens.

It's everyone's responsibility and also nobodies. I've fed kids for 3 years as a man many times as well as adopting kids from other people as a woman.
I also understand when people are too busy to help me. The game is hard and stressful sometimes and babies take a lot of focus away from you.
It's weird. If your mom isn't going to feed you. Just run away and scream F near the closest woman you can find. Works most of the time.
I'm Slinky and I hate it here.
I also /blush.

Hmm… I don't know. Children are mom's responsibility, not all females. Is cousins children affect my gene score?

I disagree. Parenting is an option. I may or may not feed my baby if I believe it to be important for me or my town. In real life you have ways to choose if you have kids or not. In this game females don´t have the option to choose. I can even stab my baby if I believe it to be necessary (ie, a baby that shouts F U). I may or may not feed some extrange kids if I believe it to be important, and the same goes if I am male. Imo a responsability is a moral obligation ergo can not be forced upon someone.
- I believe the term "Berrymuncher" is derogatory and therefore I shall use the term "Berrier" instead.

Interesting and strong counterpoint testo. You might be right.

The only feature I wish was implemented, is breast milk drying up once you are no longer fertile. I think you should be able to have some sort of timer to at least feed your last baby. Once that baby is old enough, then you can become officially dry.
Once a woman has a valid birth, as a general, the more she feeds, the more she will make. She can even produce after menopause. A woman doesn't need working uterus and ovaries to breastfeed, all she needs are functioning breasts and pituitary glands.
So I don't think being fertile should go hand in hand with being able to feed your babies as a female in the game.

Apparently you don´t even need to be a woman
