Re: Are Some Baskets More Civilized Than Others Or Something?

There WAS no grain cluttery, just lazy people not moving it to bakery. That kind of people only do one thing, and since there's wheat on the ground they need to move one tile away. I try to tell my kids "wise girl always has empty bowl in bp".

I know because I did that once last week, cleaned whole 12 *gasp how much* tiles of town to 2 x 6 bowls just south of bakery and *gasp* bakers made bread !
After just few minutes of first 5 bread (it is used in pies, what a waste wink ) there was none to be had, since I hadn't eaten any bread I was seeking for it in bakery, so I went for another run to get rest of this so-called "excess" wheat, cut baked and made 6 breads, even got butter there so buttered some ! Now, no more delicious buttered bread sad *sad*

My impression is that if you prepare the tools and materials, things usually gets done. So I'm not sure if I would call people lazy, since they seem to be happy to work if they get a little guidance.

Maybe it's just that there's so much to do, so it's easy to get sidetracked.

I think it's just a massive flood of choices. I don't know what to do because I can't choose from 30 different things to do.

Do you know, at least when it comes to flavors of jams, that consumers are actually MUCH less happy with their purchase if the whole line consists of many different flavors rather than just a few? Three seems to be optimal balance between having a choice and too many choices

Perhaps a little section in tutorial that explain what one should typically learn first to be useful citizen - tutorial doesn't even include teaching farming! Why does it have an area to experiment with smithing? Isn't that like doing step 10 before doing step 3?

This is OHOL, not You Are Hope.  At least, from what Tarr told me on the discord the other day, YAH has a little extra section you can learn more about multiple jobs in the tutorial.  I think Tarr said it's optional, and I don't quite recall what it covers, but it sounded more extensive than the OHOL tutorial area.  But hey, neither you, Tarr, the designers of YAH, or myself have 15+ years of game designing experience, so how could us saying something like this be useful?  Oh... because maybe we started playing the game more recently than 3+ years ago when the game was just code without artwork... that's why.

Honestly , the 15 year old shit is getting old. Get over it. I decide to still keep posting suggestions by now. We have already filled entire boards with that so meh, it should be a dead meme by now.

Re: Are Some Baskets More Civilized Than Others Or Something?

I don't think the issue was at all about wheat still. Just that most places I've been have low amount of bowls, so when there's 12 full of carnitas or such people needed to use one bowl at a time to move the wheat. Anyhow, no "major player" talking about this so it'll get forgotten anyhow. I'm just sad it's tougher to make bread and butter it, though yumchain can live w/o these.

Or maybe there was a loud couple of people who didn't always have an empty bowl in bp and plan how many seeds to put to it or someone nearby to take second sip of stew to empty it... Now when more than half of bowls are filled with useless crap, I say an empty bowl is second or sometimes first item with sharp stone I usually carry.
