About boredom

-just some thoughts-

I make a sign and pick a name for one of towns and after that I noticed that I CARE about this town more than the others. It's like my own (which is not of course ;P, I didn't build it from scratch or rule it, it's just a feeling).

To avoid boredom we need to do something for ourselves, or in other words be responsible for something that is our own. That's why people like being Eve. In other games we gain experience for our character, here we just need to survive. After surviving and advancing we feel bored. Females without babies sometimes says they wanna die.

Community isn't enough, after surviving and defending we don't share any goal, we are not responsible for community or own it. So it's a dead end because we can't have in OHOL something more than towns with communes.

Re: About boredom

I haven't gotten bored yet because I can always be busy, but I understand where you are coming from.  It's much more exciting to be building a town (or escaping/reviving a dead one) than being in an advanced city.  I guess one option is to go out into the wild yourself, but then you risk your family.  Is it really the best idea?  So, I understand the conundrum.  I saw a suggestion for sports in another thread; things like that are a step in the right direction IMO.
