Imagine More Burdock

When I played a few days ago I sort of felt it was a pity that burdock no longer seemed like it would make sense to eat, unlike how it was before rabbits needed bait.

There existed a short period (one week) where Jason fixed what was a longstanding bug where short objects such as rabbits, berry bushes, ponds, big hard rocks, and burdock wouldn't spawn as originally intended.  Jason made a post where he thinks about making that bug into a feature here: https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=6365 and later he did make that bug into a feature.  When that happened though, rabbits did not require bait.  Since they now do, I think it's worth rethinking the current system where that longstanding bug got turned into a feature.  Perhaps that feature should become a bug once again.

For those reading who have forgotten how things were different, in addition to Jason's images in the first link, how things looked different can get understood by observing the first few minutes of this video where new rabbits pop out of holes: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/425012426

Also, Jason provided us with two different pictures:

one with less resources

and one with more

I preferred things the latter way.  It seemed like a world with more possibilities, while those possibilities also making some sense.

Re: Imagine More Burdock

You can also make bait with 6 berries+carrot right? Will cost a lot more water of course, but yeah it is still possible even after running out of burdocks.
With infinite map there is no real reason to make more burdocks spawn anyway, can just travel some if you need more.

Re: Imagine More Burdock

I'm surprise that spoonwood played this game recently. (I misunderstood he is read only forumer or watching streams)
I wondering how fun when meet you in game.

Anyway, at now, noobs and newbies doesn't know how to eat burdock (I think they don't know burdock is food)
And we have borderless huge world, so burdock is infinite.
I don't have any matter about burdock now.

Re: Imagine More Burdock

Fwiw you can gather 6 wild berries + wild carrot as rabbit bait too. Later on you might need to bring your own carrots sometimes.

I think I get what you mean though, I feel a little guilty if I eat a burdock.
