Suggestion about family specialization
There is only one problem, It's very hard to find other family.
So,I suggest that white people(poly-lingual people) can see fire(including large slow, large fast fire) from distant place. Beacon fire!
Long times ago,Humans used fire and smoke to send signal. So,It's not bad idea.
How about that?

While it could be helpful it would be unrealistic, people can't see regular fire from miles away.
There is flash fire tho (https://onetech.info/3029-Flash-Fire), it could work I think.

No, not fire. Its smoke.

Use wolf's dung and called "Wolf smoke" in Japan.
You can see smoke over 10km far if there is open field and good weather.

Flash fire has something special effect? I'm not sure how different between "large fast fire" and "flash fire".
But we only see a few tiles in front of ourselves in OHOL ...
How about off-screen sound when Whites say "/something"?

yeap we desperately need low tech bells.
Drums are nice, smoky fire can indicate a ? sign on screen.
Jason has to add an indicator next to home mark or a key to shuffle home marks.
