We desperately need a combat system overhall

At the curret state, noone wants to PvP because the victor is determined by who initates combat first. We need an overhall of the combat system if there is going to be more compitition created between civilizations.

We could have a tiered sytem based on the different ages humans went through and some sort of resorce dump of a goal that allows us to advance towards the next stage. It could be stone, copper, brass, iron, steel. We could have to make a better furnace or anvil to be able to make the next tier and require a massive ammount of effort to achieve.

In each of these ages would be a set of basic tools we can make from the resorces we can access. In each of these tools would be a set of wepons. A defensive set and an offensive set. There would be two stances you could take and then a point system would work out who wins based on how good your armor is, what stance your in, and what weapon your using and if its good for the stance that your in. A wooden spear would be the first weapon we could make. And would beat this tier and even the next tier with just the defensive stance. Offence weapons could be more expensive and shields could even be implemented.

This would create more conflict between the civilizations and a way to resolve it. There could be very few copper mines and force us to fight over the limited resorces and give those people just standing around something to do. Like guard.

Thanks for reading!

Re: We desperately need a combat system overhall

+1, having more interesting pvp and raiding elements would draw in a more diverse set of players too... Having supervillains makes a game like this very interesting ;P seems boring that there's no way to break through a property fence. If we're trying to model real life then there should be no 100% effective defense. In a vaguely similar game they implemented a very difficult to build "trial by fire" kind of thing outside the base that would make a base penetrable after a certain amount of time if the defenders didn't take it down before then (the raiders would have to defend the trial by fire during that time) perhaps there could be an offscreen notifier kind of like the combat exclamation mark

Re: We desperately need a combat system overhall

Now that im thinking about it, we could claim objects like we do property fences and if someone outside our family took them we could declare a war. Maybe with 3 people over 35.

We could have three of them guarding a spot and be able to decide to declare war on any intruders

Yeah but then that's a way for some 10 minute old character to start a war between families, maybe the claimed objects can't be taken and property fences can't be broken through until a war is declared... something like that, and then obviously there would need to be a way to coerce a family into war
