Why did the previous arc end?

The first "new" arc ended at around 7am PST today.

Who was around when it ended?

Failure condition was >= 6 helpless babies per fertile mother.  Do you all remember that happening?

We should keep a log in this thread of eye-witness accounts of the end of each arc as it happens.

Also, I should update the home page tracking to show more arcs than just the current and previous.

But I'll also update this thread with that data.

First "new" arc (half million tiles) lasted 960 years, or 16 hours.

That was, coincidentally, how long the first one lasted before 20-baby hell and I killed it manually.

Do you think you can break that record and last 20 hours?

The next arc lasted 1954 years, or over 32 hours.  People were outside shipping goods inside to keep everyone alive and prevent the automatic reset.  I ended up resetting it manually.

From what I can gather, there might have been 2 factors at play as well.

1. Somebody managed to build a plane and a fertile female escaped.

2. There was an eve in donkeytown that somehow had a normal child. That line grew outside the rift just like the the plane one.

Wait, you heard that both these things happened?

2 is definitely a bug..... but I just fixed that bug, I thought.  Maybe not, though.

the fix of that bug failed. i myself was born to a donkeytown eve 1h after it went live.

To be honest the current arc is only prospering because people got out of the rift.

Yea there spreading and have booming populations. They feel more like towns than even before the rift update.
