confusing bells and shitty hoards

thanks to rapid-oil-depletion-typo-day
- we lost 6 bells
- we now have 2 bells very far apart
- i spent 20 minutes ber life just marching mostly west, instead of 5 minutes prior to that day.
- raising babs on your way to repopulate great ruined places (and to build a long road with many bells next to it) is a waste of time, they just almost certainly die before age 14 and waste time and resources and memerscoring. no matter how smart they act near you in your interest to keep them alife. as soon as they lose you they get suicidal, and it hapopens so fast, because they will fail to follow you for 14 years, and you have to lose them before they reach age 14, or they will just take your stuff and maybe even murder you for it. yeah, whacky game.

people fail to bring gold to the old/new bell town area, which is easy to gather on your 2-5 k march there, and much more rewarding that seeing your kids die or grief you on your way to a better place.

theres now 2 bells, and the second bell southeast is already blocked off by 3 stone walls after being rang once, its that unpopular. i guess many people confused the bells and just want that one to not ring anytime soon.

theres some really shitty hoards in the middle of nowhere, with way too few roads and way too much stuff for even evil twins.
so im just gonna reveal that location, as its not my build and i want to see it disappear.

The hell's your problem man? S you're saying that if a project is not yours, it's fine to greif it?

Re: confusing bells and shitty hoards

theres one player who took a lot of stuff from the last remaininbg bell and transported it far northwest to this place.
and by the amount of stuf, its all that player does ingame.
io thought most people may not like this, but apparently that player just outed itself above.

I explore a lot and find so many dead bases, finders keepers. Thats how i see most people play this game.
its okay though, cause i dont live forever, and i can only transport so much at once, often just a fraction of excess items are relocated, and that accumulates a bit.
i have no interest in locking up everything, it decays anyways, so if you find my stuff in well kept chests (behind trees), good for you.
i mostly lock up excess knifes, it significantly decreased local in-family-murder rates.
"my places" are not big secrets, as i tend to build long roads trough them.
i deliver turkeys en masse to famous abandoned places, and often to living foreigners.
my goal is mostly goad and bell building.

but one thing i rarely ever do at all, building walls like this purely hoarding thief.
hoarding 12 chisels and 2 bells with ropes is kind of where im at now, for bell building.
finding gold is tricky here, and this accumulates a few picks and bowls all over the place.

Re: confusing bells and shitty hoards

So i make tools myself with the iron i get myself, making sure to make extra of those for the town aswell.
Get the horse myself, make and dye cloth myself, make giga milkweed farms myself, to get boxes there.
You just stumble upon them, help yourself to them and have the arrogance to state that it's all hoarding at others' expenses anyway? Arent you just making up excuses here?

Everyone has their way of chilling in this game. You're literally spending all your time in this game by building a giga road between two beyond dead cities. So what's your problem with others working on their own projects?

I hope you at least didnt screw up a city's iron suply by getting all those chisels.

Re: confusing bells and shitty hoards

nah i let people do their thing, which is 10% of all deads (of people who wanted to live where they were born in the first place) being knife murders.
im just far away from any of that.

i fund treasures, and i usually share them, like in here.

its not 2 but 12 ruins.
i occasionally see an other players waddle around within the area.

Re: confusing bells and shitty hoards

Yeah. Cool. That's not my point.

THIS:

is my point. The hell's wrong with that attitude towards "not your builds"?

And THIS aswell:

ollj wrote:

Why the hell do you just assume that the stuff is stolen and act consequentely? Lots of people wanna play outside the town-worker-ant meta. And contribute more than enough to do that.

The only explanation i can come up with so far, is that you just take w/e you want without worrying about the towns and therefore assume that others do that aswell. Is this the case?
And im not talking about your weapon hoards here.

Re: confusing bells and shitty hoards

just making clear, just posting an image of a greedy hoard without context, it sure would looke like i claim this is something i build and would be proud of.
made clear i did not build it.
i made clear that its locale is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, sure not a town spot, but rather one of those shitty hoars you usually find 200 tiles north of every big and old enough town.

i only srunbled upon this place 3 times, and traded my incentory with it, no big changes done, but thanks for the horsecarts. all other times i just passed by it by far, searching for gold or turkeys on my way instead.

i worry about town, but they die with or without me, so my worries have a time limit, that is reached when i coincidentally find the town full of items but without any living player.

Re: confusing bells and shitty hoards

i just dod something silly to that locale.
rather than waiting 2 hours to finish 1 or 2 of my own bells (prematurely)..
i instead decided to donate one of my my bells to this hoard locale. (i mined the 4 gold myself)
its like -714,+714 of the most recent bell before this one. i rang the bell once, then spent time doing the silly thing of adding wooden fenches as door blockers (just dig them up or turn them into gates, its no biggie)
so, the bell may only ring a few times, with long breaks between them. and then be griefed to death for longer periods, and then may ring again once 2 people manage to remove tome walls, and then will be dead. it will likely be over within 6 hours and i will miss all of it.

i managed to knife the first player who came for my bell call (he came so fast, he really wanted to die there).
[owen ziv] had a horse, a backpack and a knife, but he just never shift-right klicked, and came closer and closer each time i scared him away, by growling first.
he was foreign so any comminucation was useless, and i only let my knife talk to his chest.
he practically ran into my knife, and chose to die inside the shitty hoard, that now has the easiest ringable bell.

--

the bell tower is placed really shitty, surrounded by stone walls, begging to be griefed, and it saure will bne dead very quickly, but not by me (wooden fenches are so weak)
i thought
- a shitty bell is better than no bell
- its likely a wasted bell for the fun of it. its okay though , it was my spare bell.
- let everyone who likey to explore see this shitty locale.
- let people learn how to turn wooden fenches into fenche gatesm or how to remove them, it super easy.

Re: confusing bells and shitty hoards

side note, my shitty road is a "shitty hoard" in some sense too, but i see bases spawning at some points of it, so its more "base seeding" and "repopulating a ruin" than "hoarding".
and i see some odd non matching keys next to some locked chests there and some odd activities, not done by me.
lots of bunnies have been skinned there recently, and furnaces are build there, not by me.
the [6-bells in 2 towns] place is slowly coming back to life, somehow.
but i rather do not build roads longer than 3k.
