Hello everyone:
First things first. I speak Spanish, so if I misspell something I apologize in advance. Thanks for understanding.
Update:
I boot Ubuntu 16.4 in the laptop true an USB drive. I manage to run the game and the lag wasn’t there. Now im 100% sure the lag is present on Windows 10, not because the laptop hardware. I will try to get Windows 10 in my old laptop to run another test. I will let you guys know my results.
A little of the story:
This is my problem. I have a laptop from 2010 with an i7 first generation, 8gb of ram, and intel graphics . This laptop is runing windows 7 and my game (one hour one life) runs perfect. Today I bought a second laptop, because my wife got into the game, and now she doesn’t let me play. The new laptop was intended to be for her to play.
We got a HP dual core 2.4 gh, 4gb of ram, intel graphics . This laptop is running windows 10.
After an hour and half of windows updates, and using enthernet explorer to download google chrome finally got to buy the game for her.
She spawned right away in a village and the game was lagging like crazy. Everything looks in slow motion. The game was almost unplayable. When she was old to eat, she grab a basket and went for a walk. As soon she got out side the village the game was runig way better. She was there for a wile going out and in the village, managing to stay alive with the lag. In a chance of luck, I spawn as her baby and I was able to test the game from bouth points of view. In my laptop (2010) the game was perfect. In her braight new (2018) laptop the game was almost unplayable. We both were conected to the same wifi (70mb/s)
After a bit. I did some shanges to windows 10, like disabling Mc caffe antivirus, increasing the 3D graphics. I conected her to the internet true wire. I end some crapy back ground programs. After all of that, I got the game to play at a desent speed. It almost look like my old laptop. But in crowded areas, the lag will come back. Just this time the game was playable.
I think the main problem is Windows 10 and the game having some comficts with the performance. If you manage to read all the way to here, please let me know if this ever happend to you or someone you know. I will be glad if anyone help me out with a solution to this problem.
Thanks for your patients and help.

Same exact thing has been happening to me. Every time I’m in a town, everything goes in slow motion. I also have a windows 10 laptop but my specs are a little better than the laptop you mentioned, so OHOL should run fine.

I was starting to suspect windows 10 was the culprit. Jason, can we get a patch for this?
EDIT: Well, I posted a suggestion about a patch for this problem in reddit. I doubt it’ll get worked on though, considering how few people have this problem. The game is practically unplayable for me in this state, and there’s no reason for it.

Sounds like this is a known issue with Windows10 and OpenGL games:

I don't think there's any way that I can fix this on my end. My game uses VERY simple OpenGL code. No shaders or anything fancy.
A lot of other games that run well on Windows10 are probably using DirectX instead of OpenGL. Of course, Microsoft wants everyone to use DirectX so that developers are locked into Windows.

I personally haven't had any issues with Windows10. Apart from the sporadic client-end lag, the game runs beautifully.

Are you playing on a laptop?

Ah, apologies... On PC. I'll be playing the game on my Win10 laptop tomorrow though, so will report back if I get the same issue as you guys.

Jason suggested I set OHOL’s target frame rate to 15 instead of the usual 60, and while it doesn’t look great, the game is at least playable in large towns now.
