Can I name myself?

I have just known that you can name your children. Just pick them up and say "your name is ...". So I was wondering, can I name myself? (if I haven't got a name, of course)

You can only give your self a last name if spawned as an eve. Your first name will be eve.

Yeah, if you're an Eve, say "I am Robespierre" (for example) and that will become the family name of your line.

edit: Robespierre is not on the canonical list. You can, however, name yourself Tsinnijinnie, which you probably should.

It does kinda suck when your mother doesn't name you. Well, to be fair it happened to me when the update had only just be released a few hours ago. I tried desperately to tell my mother how to name me but unfortunately, she was yet to find out. When I was older I was able to tell my mother how to do it, She seemed to really enjoy naming all her kids. I ended up being the one person without a name.

Seeing someone name themselves is probably one of the easiest ways for new players to learn the mechanic
Edit update: Jason has confirmed people won't be able to name themselves, (other than eves) over the Reddit suggestions.

I think it would make sense to be able to name yourself if you reach a certain age without being named.

Jason stated that he wants it to be part of the mother-child relationship to increase how special the connection is. Eventually the knowledge will spread, but every opportunity for someone to see someone get named is valuable to that learning. On the other hand, our development of names could be seen as a villages culture developing over time. An uninformed eves daughter may be the "inventor" of names in that village, showing the mother
