'MOON' VILLAGE MURDERED - They tried to exile me. We exiled them

I was in a village - surname Moon

There was a city south of the village that had died, but was in decent shape. I ran down with a three man military troop to check it out. We were ready for an attack, but found the city abandoned. We contemplated plundering or repopulating, and decided to return to our village and bring a girl or two down.

We returned and were met with hostile words - people laughing at our attempt to manifest destiny the south. The world was expanding and they would never understand.

In a desparate attempt to be heard I asked every fertile and soon to be fertile woman. All denied, spitting in my troop's face - a troop who worked har dto succeed, and had traveled far.

Finally, an ekder came and exiled us, saying we, three men, were no longer welcome in their eight man village. My men were sticken by this blatant disregard of our efforts.

We asked her not to kill us, to which she said "I won;t have to" RP of a threat enough for us.

This town was unambitious. The penalty was death.

The three of us made quick work of the town, as we were essentially the only guard and had been tossed aside. We gave the members a chance to join, but those who had already refused or chose to ignore us were slaughtered. In the end, only the three man troop survived.

I'd hesitate to call it griefing, as we were mistreated and tossed aside by an unfair system that did not care to expand. I feel justidief in our actons.

Here's me from the tree. Enjoy scrolling through the death.

Anyone could have joined us. They chose to toss aside three perfectly good soldiers. This is what happens. I'm a hardcore RP player. ;D

From an RP perspective, you failed in your mission, abandoned your duty, and attacked the people you swore to defend.   How contemptible.

Soldiers that kill their own village are worse than griefers.

Hmmm, random asshat (who did basically nothing for the town) tells me what to do, what do I do? Tell em to fuck off. Boring (failed) roleplay. If anyone was unambitious, it was you; instead of working on your village you tried to make slaves and got violent when you didn't get your way.

i like your attempt at justifying your griefing. i hope you know that there were probably many other ways to get someone to join your trio, like saying to a woman; 'hey, i'll look after your baby.' if she had a female baby and she let you, you could have taken the baby to the other village and fed her until she (the baby) grew up and could have babies of her own.

but no, you decided to go the violent, destructive route by griefing and in doing so you tarnished the rping reputation even more... to try and hide your griefing. *deep sigh*

Killing your own people because they don’t want to do what you say, is not role play. You aren’t a king to order, neither soldiers. Soldiers respect hierarchy, they don’t kill their own people unless they are being lead by a dictator.
You couldn’t repopulate the south, and you made things worse on north, what was the objective? In my land, we call it “griefing”.

I feel like your behavior here is like a four year old having a temper tantrum over your neighbor stepping on your favorite ant and kills the neighbor's entire family, then you come here to find refuge and upload a moronic story about how your wrongdoing is all holy and correct. Too bad that we are normal humans unlike you and we choose to reject you.

Not so much a call for slaves, more for settlers and the threat of exile. But you're also kind of right

I explained poorly that we were exiled after simply trying to recruit

I'm saying what happens in OHOL happens IRL. You mess with the military they destroy everything. We stayed true to our form of art.

Don't exaggerate your position.   You were part of a civilian militia at best.

A real military is granted authority to act from a governing body.  Without that authority, you are just a group of guys with knives and an urge to use them.  The village elders are the closest thing to a government in an OHOL village.   Yet you ignored them and rejected their authority.  I don't think you have any right to describe yourself as "soliders".

Based on your actions, you were nothing but marauders and common murderers.

Yeah, the literal "main" thing about being a soldier or military is following orders and the chain of command. Why didnt you listen to the matriarch? She made y'all, do what she wants (within reason). You werent a military, you were a band of raiders at best, and some tyrannical despots at worst ??.

i think the word you're looking for is 'dictators'.

We fought what seemed unjust with our knives, yes. It was unwarranted for her to attempt to exclude us from the town because we were trying to recruit!

I certainly use military loosely. You're right it was more of a militia. Once we were ecluded from the village, we operated by our own rule and decided to raid and maraud. It wasn't as savory as everyone gtting along, but it was more flavorful of an experience for the three of us to act out our frontier justice (though you can obviously argue it was griefing) than it would be for us to go off and die three sad old men with knives. However, to say we did not operate under some extension of authority ignores the rather fluid form of power in the game. Really, the ones with access to violence have power. Our abuse of the power was certainly childish, as has been pointed out, but it was not as devious as a group setting out specifically to ruin a town.

Your point about the term 'soldier' being tossed around with relative disregard holds some serious weight, I will agree. But ultimately we held the power which would be my stance there. The 'matriarch' who was likely self appointed hit the big red button, and we carried out our own form of vengeance, despite how twisted it may seem. We were also not young at this point, well into adulthood. probably the 3rd 4th and 5th oldest in the village of 10 or so.

I'm not going to argue with the facts you put out. It was OHOL terrorism. However, we were exiled before we got violent. We were not threatening recruits with violence. We met our exile with violence. At that point, we committed to wiping the townspeople who were against us, which due to our persistence (I assume), was most people. We never actually tried to force people to help us. I'm not saying you're at all wrong, I actually think you're most right on here. Still, we did not get violent until we were exiled. Is being annoying worth exile? Probably not. Is being exiled worth wiping a village? again, probably not. But it felt like revenge to me, not simple spite.

I definitely think you over-reacted to the situation.  It could have been resolved peacefully if you were willing to accept a new role.  Your village had no need for soldiers or guards.  There was no outside threat for you to fight against.  It needed strong men willinging to work hard so the next generation would do even better.

You could have reforged your knives and become road builders, connecting your small village with the large abandoned town.   You could have caught horses and headed out as explorers, leaving behind those narrow minded villagers for the larger world.   You could have made bows and become hunters of wolves and pigs, helping to keep the village safe for generations to come and gathering some sweet wolf hats.

I think you got lost in your own narrative and failed to see that there were many ways your story could have ended that did not involve tears or blood.

thank you for admitting for you "crimes" and not attacking me for pointing this fact out. though I do admit I did over exaggerate, so I bring a message for the future:

You bring insight to this conversation. You're right, we had got too caught up in the idea of fighting. Sill, it was primally satisfying. An overreaction nonetheless.
