Writing history project

If you haven't seen the small collection of stories written in Mango/Casino town I'm attempting to write about different lost cities within the game and leave them for future generations to be able to read about.

This is mostly just a fun in game project I'll be working on each time I end up in Casino town to attempt to retell different stories of places I and other people have been. I really recommend other people adding their own stories of different cities to the town whenever you get the chance.

My next trip will likely just be paper making as a lot of paper ends up getting wasted by people writing random stuff (you can see a good example of how much paper is wasted walking out west of the village) however I do plan on working on more citing writing in the future.

How can you help?

1.) Name your cities - This seems fairly obviously but it's hard to write about cities without proper names. Just ask for someone to make a sign or make your own and plop that bad boy down somewhere people can see. City names don't always have to be serious things but knowing what a place is called makes a huge difference when writing about them.

2.) Add your own personal stories - Nothing brings the idea of a city to life like the stories of those who lived in them at one point or another. Personal stories don't have to be super long but please don't just add random stuff. A bad example is one of the tosses papers in Casino town " I ___ ____ lived here." Try to think of something neat you seen or did, make page feel special.

3.)  Make paper for the future - Leaving supplies in town to make paper or growing extra maple trees helps in the long run when working on such a project. I'll be doing my part to try to leave extra paper around for other people to use when they visit Casino town.

Messages will eventually change on the papers we write as old messages are deleted for new messages to pop up. Don't feel bad if any of the stories are lost due to time, this is mostly an expectation when doing a project such as this. Just try to have some fun and maybe one day we'll have a great library filled with all the different cites that we've had, or yet to have.

Re: Writing history project

It was very fun to read. I haven't been to any of the villages or towns you wrote about but it sure sounds like a good time.

How do people find Casino town if no one is there to ring the bell?

Re: Writing history project

Generally just have to wait until someone spawns there as Eve or walks from a place close enough to Casino city.

Anyways history project is now on hold as there's something incredibly goofy going on with paper. I ended up writing about 54 pages of story which has led to 27 other papers within the city being overwritten with duplicate story pages. I'm not really understanding what is going on with paper.

To my knowing old pages are culled by newer pages to make room for new stuff people write but I'm seemingly just making duplicate pages of my own stories over old pages people wrote while retaining my own stories.

Basically: I write a story then my story is deleting someone else's story to make a copy of itself on the old page while being on the new page as well.
