As far as I am aware, you don't 'own' those names, so people don't really steal it. Also most try to maintain efficiency by giving their babies a simple, yet unique name sometimes, unless it is village of Bobs...

I tried naming a baby Herman once, but I spelled it wrong and he ended up as Hermione.
