Can someone explain some Eve and Town mechanics?

When I spawn as an Eve, sometimes I feel it is pointless.

I build up a nice little base camp, but most of time my kids are idiots and die within 4-6 generations. I mean, how hard is it to fend for yourselves when you have berry bushes and carrots enough to sustain as long as you’re adding to the new town??

So what’s the point? Sometimes it’s easier to just keep dying until I am born into a town where I can be productive.

I read somewhere that Eves will spawn into these abandoned base camps, but I’ve never had that happen. I’ve also read that if you live to age 60, you’ll be born close to where you died. Is this true?

What are the basic mechanics of Eve spawning? Or is it just random?

As an Eve, the most important thing is where you settle. If large amounts of any required resource is too far away your camp wont grow into a town.

Everything runs out or is time gated, so it isn't enough to find a few isolated ponds near some fertile soil. For your camp to become a successful town there needs to be a large clump of ponds in that swamp, plenty of maple trees in the green and enough soil to get you to composting, at least one iron mine and enough loose iron to mine it (ie you need full set of metal tools, not just axe and hoe) lots of rabbits is good too, and all this needs to be within easy walking distance. Its pretty rare to find such a perfect spot like that.

Spawning where you died is only for Eves who die of old age. I do it often, but only on the quiet servers where I can play solo and kids don't mess everything up. You can chain as many Eves as you want in the same place so long as you keep dying of old age. My best run was seven Eves (palindrome!) before I stupidly tried taming a wolf and got bitten by the semi-tame one.

I would recommend being a nomad. Just travel and live off berries, onions, cactus fruit, and dug up stuff. Forget every boy you have, and raise every girl that you have.

First thing you need to make is a basket, collect lots of milkweed, make a snare, kill rabbits, make firedrillbow, make stone hatchet, make fire, cook rabbits, get needle, make backpacks. Give backpacks to your children. If you get that far, then you can try to find a place to settle or make clothes.

You must settle near a swamp with ponds or else you won't be able to farm, but for early game food you will also need to be next to grassland with sufficient amount of berry bushes. Grassland also needed for branches and fertile soil. It's also nice for rabbits to not be too far away.

When you die of old age your Eve Spawn is then set to a random person's location, so you will spawn to where they are which is most likely a town or camps. It works on unpopulated servers because all of the players are in the same area which saves the location. But if you are on server 1 then you will spawn to another players location.

Does this mean that if your eve spawn is set to a thriving village, than 24 hours later you log in and spawn as an eve, you will spawn in a village that has been dead for 24 hours?
