Cannot Get Through Tutorial

To begin, I had the reaccuring bug where when updating the game it said "read-only", now I got this fixed. Upon starting the game, I would get about halfway through the tutorial when my character would lag and stay in one spot until it died. I found that it was worse around where carrots are introduced in the tutorial. This is really annoying and I would like the get my money's worth of this game and atleast try it out for a bit. But I cannot even get through the tutorial without the lag. I've retried about five times already. Is there any known reason for this and a way to help it? Thanks.

Just wait a bit, today's been exceptionally painful with the lag.
I can only feel bad for you given you only tried to play during a huge lag spike....

Hopefully jason fix this problem soon.
