Starting a farm (tilled row) Help!

Okay,

I have a problem with making a tilled row so i can start a farm. Everytime i try to take a basket of soil and put the soil on the ground, it will just end up as composed soil (i think) instead of a tilled row. Well, anyways its just some kind of soil on the ground i can use for refilling berry bushes with when the bushes is dried out etc. But i need a tilled row to plant some first! sad  I dont know what i do wrong! I have literally looked everywhere from videos to wiki & tutorials etc. but i still cant find out how i make it  sad

Sooo..
It would be great if someone would tell me how i can make a tilled row.

Stick a skewer in it to make tilled row.
Or you can use a hoe to make it into a tilled row

Re: Starting a farm (tilled row) Help!

Don't till the whole pile, it's wasteful. You can use clay bowl to take individual units of soil (there's three in a pile). If you till a single soil it'll take two uses of hoe so it's not tool efficient. Stack two and you can till them with one use of hoe just like if it was a whole pile, but you're saving 33% of the soil. I usually grab six baskets of soil, which when properly restacked makes nine fields.

Re: Starting a farm (tilled row) Help!

its all the same kind of soil

^ if it looks like this u can use a skewer to hoe it or a stone hoe or a steel hoe

^ in 1 basket of dirt there are 3 bowls of dirt. if u move 1 bowl of dirt, leaving 2 bowls of dirt u can still hoe it for a full row (and consume less dirt)

if u scroll down to the bottom this is where i got the images

edit: u have to use the skewer/hoe on the dirt pile to turn it into a tilled row. idk where u were struggling but i hope this helps!

Thank you so much for your time and help!

But if i only use one bowl of soil instead of a basket of soil, i only get a hardened row. hmm
