Re: Babies that avoid being named.

See, here's where I think the curse system is more of a "don't do this" problem. Plenty of moms still don't name their kids. Plenty of babies still crying N-A-M-E ... NA-ME ... while their mom has dumped them at the baby fire for the town wet nurse to take care of. That nameless baby could grow up to be an uncursable killer! Should women no longer feed any baby who isn't theirs? That's a lot of innocent players starving to death. Not a good feeling on either side. "Sorry no name" is now yet another reason to abandon players.

Idea:
I do agree that naming your kid should be a special parent-child interaction, but most people are simple folk and need some incentive. DO NAME YOUR KID, and you get a bonus, maybe fill up their hunger bar because it feels so good to do so.

People love positive reinforcement.

That's a pretty solid suggestion Anshin

Yes, Let them die for the good of the town.

If you don't want nameless people griefing then the best option is to simply not feed them no  matter what. Anyone that saves a nameless is helping potential griefers and should be stabbed. Unless you really wabt to take the risk

Re: Babies that avoid being named.

Leave kids who avoid names to die.

Only issue is, sometimes despite my protests, another woman will care for the baby who indeed turns out to be a griefer and wants “revenge”...

Re: Babies that avoid being named.

I have been stabbing no name babies. I am often left as the town wet nurse, but when i have a knife the nameless ones get culled. When i dont they get put on snakes.

I will attempt to ha ve the mother name them, but they rarely ever do.

Be kind, generous, and work together my potatoes.

Re: Babies that avoid being named.

I think it's really a big flaw in design. Griefers can cycle through lives, until they get unnamed.  And lineage ban does not kick in until they've lived for 30+ minutes, so in practice they can try to be born unnamed in a town as long as they want.

I've already stopped feeding unnamed kids, but lots of people still do.  And it's enough that there is 1 newbie among 20 people in the town for it to work.  There is a loophole than can be exploited repeatedly by the griefer.  Last griefer stabbing people left and right I have to deal with was unnamed.  Named ones were only petty thieves stealing tools from the town - they still got 6+ curses.

Re: Babies that avoid being named.

All they have to do is hide behind a named baby and chances are they'll get picked up and fed first. If someone wants to be unnamed it's not that hard.
