I've been playing on a less populated server solo as an eve. Living until old age and respawning in the same vicinity as my home marker. I've done this for about 5 lives now. Today, after 2 lives like this, I spawn into another Eve's camp as an Eve as well. I thought, "ok" removed the home marker (which was that Eve's home marker, never seen this camp before near my camp) maybe my old home marker will be stacked behind it. No such luck. So I quit out and come back in, random spawn.
Does the Eve respawn mechanism have any hitches? I was the only player on the server for a while I think, until this other Eve began playing.

It has nothing to do with the home marker. The server knows nothing about home markers at all, actually.
If you live to old age as Eve, the next time you are born as Eve, you will spawn near where you died of old age.

Aside from my misknowledge about the home marker relevance, is there any instance where a spawn as Eve wouldn't follow that logic? I used to spawn within the same screen as my death, this time my camp (and death site) was nowhere to be found.

Only last old-age Eve, or all previous? Cause I sometimes spawn in the middle of town ruins and I don't think that's the town that I've founded in the past. Definitely not in recent past. There is usually also locked building filled with gear and food prepared by griefers (to simplify next killing spree). Maybe bell attracts Eve spawns?

What does near mean? And do you spawn as an eve on the same server next game?
