To my dearest Tom

Dearest Tom,

I don't know if you will ever read this, but I wanted you to know that I loved you like a son. I raised you when you were barely a year or so old. I watched you grow with amazement as you so easily fit into the role that I gave you. Things then got pretty busy and I only got to see you as I passed though the farm.

When my hair greyed, I could no longer fit into the role that I had in life. I took in a lot of those children forgotten by busy mothers. I at first felt that forging would be what I could do to fill in the time I had left, it proved to be very hard for me to work fast.

I found myself drawn to that farm down south again and you were still there! Words cannot express of how proud I was to see you. You had survived all this time. I gave you my final gifts before my time was up, my backpack and my hat. I expressed how much i loved you and all my children and I passed on.

With Love,
Clemintine
