So holy cow!! I get my internet back on tomorrow after 1. Not playing because I got a new schedule after a promotion at work. 2. I couldn't get my keyboard to stop frick fracking up. 3. We just moved into a new house and had to wait for the cable installation. So after a month of not being able to log in I find out we have potatoes and other mind blowing updates!! I'm actually scared to log back in lol I'm definitely going to go through a second noob phase ?. Sorry to any mom's that get me and all my holy cow this update questions. I will scan YouTube for update tutorials before I log in but I apologize in advance for my month long absence lol.

agriculture has all be massively rebalanced. Everything takes soil. Milkweed never comes back in the wild.

I actually kind of like the way farming works now. There's more variety so farming is less boring, and you need to be more involved to make sure there are enough of the different kids of crops for all your village's needs.

I also think the milkweed farm situation has improved with the update. Previously you'd make a 5x5 or so milkweed farm and your village had all the rope and string it needed for generations to come. Now the farmer actually has to actively make the village has rope. I do wish wild milkweed regrew like it used to, but 'domestic' milkweed not regrowing seems like a smart move.

lol so i tried it once, was born to a village well off but they had alot of corn an squash, no carrots or anything I was familiar with. I starved shortly after becoming a 12 year old because i didnt know how to eat the corn or squash that was surronding me lol. havent been on since, im scared lol i dont want to be murdered cuz someone thinks im not working etc, I dont want to do something by mistake that is super noobish an also gets me killed (like when kids pick last carrot from sed row without knowing). And I dont want to follow someone around wasting their time asking questions lol. sigh

I'm kind of in a similar situation as you. Please don't feel alone!!

Slowly gaining a foothold on this new mountainous landscape.

I find myself gravitating to familiar things like pie making and orchard tending... still scared of ruining something for someone and then getting killed with a bow or knife by the wordless elite.

To be honest, I'm still scared to smith! Silly! I should just try. It's not like the people I've played with 20 mins ago will have to endure my stupidity in my next incarnation.

Valences: best thing to do is to ask a smith if you can watch how to smith so you learn. If he seems friendly, he might even teach you a trick or two. Be sure you have contributed to the village before doing so, so people dont think you are just a food sponge

Honestly, you shouldn't be scared of bothering anyone. Your experience of the game is just as valid as any other, and you have a right to experience the game fully. So don't worry, just ask, test things out, etc. Besides all civilizations die eventually, so it's ok if you speed that process up accidentally! (the last part is a joke but seriously this is a game go have fun)
