Eve spawning in a checkerboard landscape

Today I joined a just restarted server where my mother was just spawned as Eve.
She found a camp that we managed to repopulate, but something strange was going on.
Only half the tiles were old, the other half was regenerated terrain.
This resulted in pictures like:
checkerboardPlanks
The once majestic berry farm was like:

I can tell the other half was regenerated, because there was a surprising amount of burdock and onions nearby, of course, also in checkerboard:

There was also a stuck bear nearby... but that makes sense when spaghetti is going on.

Re: Eve spawning in a checkerboard landscape

Server1 was running out of disk space due to bug reports piling up (for the bouncing 10-seconds client bug) and crashing as a result of this.

All bets are off in terms of what was happening to the map databases in this situation.  No more space to update tiles in the database, some tiles were probably lost, etc.  Weird that it happened in a perfect checkerboard pattern.

Kinda lovely, actually!

But I'm going to chalk it up to unknown behavior when disk space runs out.

Re: Eve spawning in a checkerboard landscape

I agree, this 'bug' is 'fixed'.
