Revitalization of the Town in the West

I've played many different stories throughout the game 'One Hour One Life', but this one that I'm about to share with you is one of my favorites.
This took place a few days ago while I'm writing this.

I was born to a mother out in the wilderness, but she wasn't an Eve. She had a fur backpack strapped to her shoulders with different valuable materials inside; she gave me a name, but sadly I can't remember it. She had me, as a baby, follow her through the long grass, hardened soil and softened marsh all the way to a large thriving village. She had me stay by a fire and left me with another woman; that was the last time I saw her, if only I could remember her name. Through the years I grew up and was able to start helping out around the thriving village; so I picked up a basket and started work as a gravedigger, picking up bones and relocating them out into a quiet area. I liked the job, but sadly that didn't last.

They needed some extra hands at the farm, so I helped fill up rabbit skin pouches full of water; then an old balding man came in from the west. From his quaking lips, he ran around preaching that there was a town in the west that was on the verge of collapse and desperately needed Females. I was only a young female teen but I talked to the man and promised to go into the village and help produce fine young kids. His eyes shone bright and hugged me, thanking me with his heart and pointing straight west, saying it was dead on. I separated from the man, grabbed a rabbit skin bag and basket full of carrots for the journey. At this point, I had a purpose.

After a trek through different grounds, on weak knees, I finally came across the town in the west. It was huge, with many different areas and lots and lots of resources and tools of many types; but that's where the happy scene ends, cause it was filled with bones. It was silent, wind blew between the walls and dust collecting into the cracks of the bones of the ancestors that previously inhabited the empire; there in the horizon was an old man, skin hanging off his bones, wrinkles making up his face but a blue knitted wool cap on his old balding head. He slowly walked towards me and greeted me with open arms, saying that he's one of the last alive, with no females left. He never did tell me what happened but he did give me all his belongings and most importantly, his bright blue knitted wool hat. He bowed before me and walked into the horizon, his body fading into the dust.

I found the towns carrot farm nearby the place I entered, it was quite large but not too large that it was a handful. There was a wall of deep wells on the west side of the three-row vertical farm; this, of course, proved extremely useful. Over the years I tended the farm raising three young healthy baby boys in a span of just a handful of years. These three had bright eyes (one was quite rebellious) and they wanted to help out as much as they could. Now, I'm not much of a leader and I don't quite believe on strict rules, so I let them find their own roles and jobs throughout the town, to find their own ways to revitalize the newly formed ruins. I was quite happy and already up a bit in age, but my job wasn't done yet, cause I haven't produced a daughter. Well, don't worry, I did produce one, and she was the most beautiful and kind-hearted being I've ever seen. Having beautiful wide eyes, silky brown skin and long flowing hair, she was truly beautiful on the outside, but even more on the inside. I've loved and cared for her but when she came of age, I needed something from her.

You see, at this point, there was a problem, this problem was soil, hardened soil to be precise. When I first arrived there was a hoe and I used it to tend the fields but we came into quite a predicament when the hoe snapped in half. With no replacement, me with my hands full and my baby boys having no idea how to smith, I thought we wouldn't make it. But luckily my beautiful daughter understood the situation and with her quick hands and wonderful knowhow, she saved the village with a beautifully crafted farming hoe. The farm was saved and even more carrots came from the earth than before, helping my children work with full bellies. A few years pass and my mind became tired of thoughts about my original village in the East; so I decided I would get up and pay a visit to my birthplace one last time.

On the treck there though, something unexpected happened, I gave birth to a baby boy. I was quite surprised and didn't know what to do since I was on a journey, but I picked him up in my arms and brought him along. We arrived at the village in the East and toured around a bit, saying hi to old faces. We didn't stick around long though, cause as soon as we arrived we left since I had a baby to take care of. I soon came back to the village in the West and explained to my son that I was from the village in the East but I came here to rebuild. He was quite happy about this and even happier when I asked if he could become the towns trader, socializing and trading with the other village to further build our own. As you can probably guess, he agreed happily, heading off as soon as he came of age; I headed back to my farm after that and shortly after I discovered a grey hair.

Years and years pass, I saw with my own eyes my children becoming massive successes and I was proud of all of them; most importantly though, my beautiful daughter taking leadership and of my last child the trader with beautiful clothes and a cart full of goods. I was happy beyond belief, but sadly my life can't go on forever since I could feel the time ticking by. My body became weak, my posture lowering, crinkles forming under my eyes, knees creaking; I was coming close to my final years. I slowly inched towards my daughter in the town center with a cart at her side, gently placing my hands on hers and speaking through my old soft lips that I love her. I gave her the blue knitted hat I got from the old man all those years back and placed it in her hands; before I could say goodbye though, I died of starvation at the age of fifty-eight.

Nice story. Makes me wish there were other heirlooms apart from apparel you could hand down to your children. I guess you could give them a key to a place and then they own all the stuff inside...

Oh, and I also commonly starve near 60, because you no longer get notified with sound that you're low on food.

Re: Revitalization of the Town in the West

I'm glad you all enjoyed my story; I quite enjoyed playing and writing it.

Do you all think I should write down another one of my 'One Hour One Life' experiences or should I just pass on that idea?

Re: Revitalization of the Town in the West

That reminds me of a large town I was in.

The town had griefers and they targetted our females, bit not our males.

Realizing our village was doomed I searched the west and south with no success.  When I got back I found a young boy who had grown into man while was gone.  I explained that the server would erase our work in 24 hours if no players used it. So he took a cart of food to find a woman in the north and east.  I died shortly after.

I really wanted to know if he succeeded.  He was on Grand adventure to save a dying civ and I had played the role of question giver in his epic story.  Maybe you are the woman he found.  That would be nice.
