Griefing

It's not the act of killing off towns or resetting progress that's gets to me. That's defendable. Sometimes you fight them off, sometimes they kill off your fam, sometimes they apoc and wipe the server. They paid to play the game, I think it's fair to let them play how they like. There's ways to deal with this. Simply, "get good".

What I DON'T agree with, is that last night I was cursed in a way that I could only spawn to a mother that would not feed me. Nine lives of baby starvation, and I couldn't spawn anywhere else. Not because I had done anything "wrong", just solely to stop me from playing.

I've never played for either side. I understand both sides perspectives. I'm not a griefer, and I've never actively hunted the griefers. In fact, I've played with them on one of their alt accounts (not to grief [except one time Reformed and I goose bombed a couple towns, but that's a fairly harmless grief, and kinda silly. You could argue it uses water to breed the geese, but it also produced food]). They are pretty competent people (most of them), and it was enjoyable setting up a town in DT with some vets.

I've always just done my own thing, working on new ideas/unique projects and if they happen to mess with the town I'm in, shoo them away. Sometimes they win the battle, and other times, they die/run off. That's fair to me.

My previous statement was "They paid to play the game, I think it's fair to let them play how they want". But preventing me from playing the game on BS2 at all, crosses a line for me. That's no longer fair, in my eyes.

Sure, it could be argued that from their perspective, being sent to DT for playing how they want isn't fair. But they choose to play that way, and that's the consequence of their actions. In my case, I was targeted without fair reason and effectively temporarily banned from playing on that server.

Personally, I don't curse them just for being griefers. It's only when they start messing with me or a project that I'm actively working on. Like I said before, it can generally just be handled by countering (fighting off bears/attacking them etc). At this point though, I don't have a choice if I want to play the game.

I'm not expecting anything to happen as a result of this post, just ranting.

Tldr; they've gone too far.

Re: Griefing

Last night was heavy retaliation for killing and cursing one of our recruits, these last two weeks were for you crying to Jason.

Re: Griefing

Me crying to Jason? When have I done that? I just started playing again like two nights ago, and have only worked on random projects. No involvement with either Jason or griefers except a brief interaction where someone was trying to kill people in a town I was in. I neither killed, nor cursed them, only shoo'd them off with a "I will kill you" and "I join you", following someone else for around 30 seconds until going back to rebuild the town. I never even saw that guy die and was told he ran off.

I'm talking about this community you're apart of, and you were just in the way.

We treat you people all the same because you are.

Re: Griefing

As explained in the post, I wasn't a part of either community until what happened last night. That's what pushed me over the edge. I neither griefed, nor persecuted/helped persecute griefers, only warded them off from being around me. What happened to me last night was not just me being in the way, I was targeted specifically. A part of the group was telling town to curse/kill me specifically. Could have just let me be. So I was punished for something that hadn't happened yet?
