Just experienced my first bear griefing. Someone in our family lead 3 bears into our town on a horse. It was devastating.
I know griefing will always exist, but this method just makes it way too easy to slaughter most of a civilization.
One solution I can think of is to have bears flee back to their cave if they see, say, more than 2 people around them.

Game can't really handle that sort of thing.
Jason would tell you to put a fence around your whole village (bad)
You can always go around and either block caves (okay)
You can always kill the bears early (better)
I would tell you to just curse people doing this but it's a known thing that anyone who unironically griefs this game has a bunch of accounts.

The idea of being able to destroy the caves for resources has been suggested.
Its a decent option for resolving this issue since there would be incentive to destroy them before they become an issue.
It would also help with making roads and building in general if they could be destroyed.
Hopefully jason considers this option if he ever comes back.
