What on earth is a Flooded Pond for?

You used to be able to put water back into pond. Put too much in and it flooded.

Those use to occur when you could put water back into ponds. The goose would disappear, and you couldn't use the pond for a bit.
I thought water couldn't get back into ponds for several months if not over a year now?
