Jason, Dodge And People Like Him Don't Belong On the Secret Forums

Dodge has said a few times now that he will play a life for a bit (not using /die) and then just quit.  He tries to justify such on the basis of personal emotion that happens for a very, very short amount of time.  You said this week in the update notes:

This game is supposed to be about a bunch of different things:  the deep mystery of a trans-generational civilization (who built all this, and why?), being a small part of something much bigger than yourself, the philosophical concept of the veil of ignorance (where you can't control or predict what situation you are born into), and trying to get as close as possible to what death might actually feel like (saying goodbye forever to the people that you have grown to love)

Well, quitting on the game like Dodge does is very, very far from being in a state to what death might actually feel like.  Suicidal people just don't act that rashly on the basis of personal emotion.  He also doesn't give up on a life for reasons of playing the character.

On top of that, by not trying to have one hour one life experiences over and over again, Dodge signals that he has an interest in 30 minutes one life.  Or 40 minutes one life.  Or 20 minutes one life.  Of course, the game is one hour one life, implying one hour one life experiences as the preferred goal for players to attempt to achieve when they can.  Even the solo survival challenge also implies surviving to old age as *at least* a minimal goal that all players would ideally have for main servers.

Dodge has also further demonstrated that he doesn't have an interest in one hour one life experiences, by speaking positively of the apocalypse idea, an idea which in the end is uninteresting, because it means fewer one hour one life experiences for players, because of conditions for many of them that they cannot overcome.  And make no mistake, Dodge often wants fewer one hour one life experiences for players who are not Eves.

For those reasons he just doesn't belong on the secret forums, because he has entirely different goals than trying to make positive (at least) one hour one life experiences for players.

I don't know if this thread is a good idea...

For the time being, I think we have enough content.
