Gingers or Browns?

Who has the advantage for late game cravings?  Who has more accessibility to more food types?

Re: Gingers or Browns?

by browns do you mean, the desert, and jungle races or just the jungle race...

I would say the jungle race because they have accesses to most (if not all) of the unique plant types (sugar, pepper, ext.)

the only reason that jungle people can't create most late game food is because most late game food needs salt which is what always seem missing in jungle villages, but overflowing in any tundra village

Not for the original question I think.  Coffees = brown = jungle, right?  Chocolates = black = desert, right?  I don't recall what flavor you call Gingers.

Other way around.  Black coffee, brown chocolate, vanillas, and gingers.   All the flavors of humanity.

Alright, the original question is chocolate and pumpkin spice, if that wasn't clear already.

Re: Gingers or Browns?

Pumpkin spice isn't a real flavor.  Like blue raspberry.

Re: Gingers or Browns?

Oh and the answer to your question is that they both have equal access to late game foods, because you don't make it to late game without regular contact with other families.

Re: Gingers or Browns?

Jungle family has the best early to mid game advantage, with lots of food types available, infinite bananas providing a backup food supply and access to one of the components to rubber. Gingers have a good late game advantage, as running out of kerosene is a concern for the other groups if they mannage to make it past the midgame. Desert family has it the hardest with nether good sources of food or trade goods to offer others. You can't trade horses since you need to ride something to get back to your village, and with only 4 bowls of sulfur to offer other families you're going to have a hard time getting anything useful. I was in a desert family village where I had to build the newcomen bore to upgrade our well, but someone had cut all the rubber pully belts into timing belts, wasting tons of rubber. I reincarnated into the jungle family to see the person I had sent off to go find rubber trying to trade, but nobody would give him latex.

Also, half the desert family was standing around worshiping fish and arguing about shirt color.

Jungle family ...

There can be more than one.  So, that would more precisely read 'jungle families', or perhaps better 'jungle expert family(ies)'.  I don't think that impacts your point much though.

There's also glass products, alum, and electrum.  I'm not saying that those are comparable, just that there exists more than sulfur.  Oh, but not early to mid game, since those are late game items.  So, I guess you have a point there.  Though glass is needed for some cravings.

The food/ingredients available to browns are hot peppers, tomatoes, palm oil, peppercorns, bananas, and mangoes.

Arctic food sources all center around saltwater lakes, except for snow.  However, they are not the only people that can access them; if a ginger builds a path to the lake for others, or if there is a lucky spawn on the edge of the biome, then a ginger isn’t even needed to get 3/4 of their foods.  This means that if gingers disappear from an area, the only thing really lost food-wise is ice cream.  Other races could have a ginger build them a fishing hut, and never need them again, or just look around until they find a lucky spawn for the saltwater.

Jungle food sources center around plants, 4/6 of which grow only in the jungle.  Plus, unlike an ice hole, peppers and tomatoes can run out through bad luck.  This means that all 6 food items are needed, 4/6 of them shipped in constantly.  Palm oil and peppercorns are also used for more then one food item fries and chips, and pickles and meat rub, respectively.  All 4 of those are also common late-game cravings.

Browns win food-wise.

Strong argument.  I doubt any counter would top that analysis.  Quoted for emphasis.

Browns also get sugar cane.
