Hello everyone,
I would like to offer a suggestion that I feel would really benefit the game, especially for more advanced civilisations.
Cooking is quite a tedious task at the moment. This is not helped by the fact that you need three different cooking surfaces: hot coals, flat rock and adobe oven. You have to prepare one every time you want too cook something. It does not make sense in terms of the ethos of the game, where the more advanced you get, the more convenient daily tasks should be.
That is why I would like to propose to have a proper metal oven with a stove top and baking compartment.
It could be medium to lategame invention requiring wrought iron and some newcomen components.
The stove itself should be powered by either firewood or coals, to make it more resource draining and make each cooking session count.
The stove itself should have three compartments:
Oven - which would work like a hot adobe oven
Cooking top 1 - which would act like hot coals, and a crock could be placed on to cook
Cooking top 2 - which would act like flat rock, and could be used to cook things eggs on (maybe have a pan graphic to represent it)
I feel like this would be a good resource sink for late game villages as well as making cooking more enjoyable.
What do you guys think?

Hi Maurleur.
Of course. that the oven would be great but ...
You know why you no answer?
I am sorry to write but for about a year our dev Jason has not added anything meaningful to the game.
So the chances that we will see a new furnace are not big.
I agree that some things should eventually be improved, including kitchen and forge equipment.
But when will it be?

No point being negative. It still might happen. Jason will have to add new content eventually.

Uses for ashes from wood stove
Ashes are said to help your garden, maybe any crops and berry bushes that have had ashes added to them increase the food value of those crops. Can also be used in compost.

I like this idea too, but it shouldnt be too easy accessible. The cost of it should be about 10 steel ingots, maybe even more, and some parts of it could be done only using newcomen tools.
Making own private server (Very easy! You can play on it even if you haven't bought the game)
Zoom mod
Mini guide for beginners

Too ambitious for Jason. If you suggested doubling the wood cost of the current oven then he may consider.
